11:1
And as for me, in the first year of Daryavesh the Madai, I stood to strengthen and support him.
11:2
And now I shall declare truth to you. See— three more kings shall arise in Paras, and the fourth shall become richer than them all. And when he has become strong through his riches, he shall stir up all against the Kingdom of Yavan.
11:3
Then a mighty king shall arise, and he shall rule with great dominion and do according to his desire.
11:4
And when he has arisen, his Kingdom shall be broken and divided toward the four ruachot of the heavens, but not to his descendants, nor according to the dominion with which he ruled. For his Kingdom shall be uprooted and given to others besides these.
11:5
And the king of the south shall become strong, and one of his rulers shall become stronger than he and shall rule, and his dominion shall be a great dominion.
11:6
And at the end of years they shall join themselves together. And the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement. But she shall not retain the strength of her arm, and neither he nor his arm shall stand. And she shall be given up— she, and those who brought her, and the one who fathered her, and the one who strengthened her in those times.
11:7
But from a branch of her roots one shall arise in his place. And he shall come against the army and enter the fortress of the king of the north. And he shall act against them and prevail.
11:8
And also their mighty ones, with their molten images, with their precious vessels of silver and gold, he shall bring into captivity to Mitsrayim. And for years he shall stand apart from the king of the north.
11:9
Then the king of the north shall enter the Kingdom of the king of the south, but shall return to his own land.
11:10
And his sons shall stir themselves up and gather a multitude of great forces. And one shall come, overflow, and pass through. Then he shall return and wage war as far as his fortress.
11:11
And the king of the south shall become bitter and go out and fight with him— with the king of the north. And he shall raise a great multitude, but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
11:12
And when the multitude has been carried away, his heart shall be lifted up. And he shall cast down ten thousands, but he shall not be strengthened by it.
11:13
For the king of the north shall return and raise a multitude greater than the first. And at the end of times—years— he shall surely come with a great army and with much equipment.
11:14
And in those times many shall stand up against the king of the south. And violent sons of your people shall lift themselves up to establish the vision, but they shall stumble.
11:15
Then the king of the north shall come and cast up a siege ramp and capture a fortified city. And the arms of the south shall not stand, nor his chosen people, and there shall be no strength to stand.
11:16
And the one who comes against him shall do according to his desire, and none shall stand before him. And he shall stand in the Beautiful Land, and destruction shall be in his hand.
11:17
And he shall set his face to come with the strength of his whole Kingdom, and upright terms shall be with him, and he shall act. And he shall give him the daughter of women to destroy it. But she shall not stand with him and shall not be for him.
11:18
Then he shall turn his face toward the coastlands and capture many. But a commander shall cause his reproach to cease for him. Indeed, he shall turn his reproach back upon him.
11:19
Then he shall turn his face toward the fortresses of his own land, but he shall stumble and fall and shall not be found.
11:20
Then in his place shall arise one who sends an exactor through the glory of the Kingdom. But within a few days he shall be broken, though not in anger and not in battle.
11:21
And in his place shall arise a despised one, upon whom they shall not place the majesty of the Kingdom. But he shall come in tranquility and seize the Kingdom through flatteries.
11:22
And the overflowing arms shall be swept away from before him and shall be broken, and also the ruler of the covenant.
11:23
And after the alliance made with him, he shall act deceitfully, and shall rise and become strong with a small people.
11:24
In tranquility he shall enter the richest places of the province, and shall do what his fathers did not do, nor the fathers of his fathers. Plunder, spoil, and possessions he shall scatter among them. And against strongholds he shall devise his plans, but only for a time.
11:25
And he shall stir up his strength and his heart against the king of the south with a great army. And the king of the south shall stir himself up for battle with an exceedingly great and mighty army. But he shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him.
11:26
And those who eat his delicacies shall break him, and his army shall overflow, and many shall fall slain.
11:27
And as for these two kings, their hearts shall be toward evil, and at one table they shall speak lies. But it shall not prosper, for the end is still for the appointed time.
11:28
And he shall return to his land with great possessions, and his heart shall be against the holy Covenant. And he shall act and return to his own land.
11:29
At the appointed time he shall return and come into the south. But it shall not be as the former time or as the latter.
11:30
For ships of Kittim shall come against him. Therefore he shall be broken and turn back and rage against the holy Covenant. And he shall act, and shall return, and shall give attention to those who forsake the holy Covenant.
11:31
And arms shall arise from him and profane the Sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the continual offering. And they shall set up the abomination that makes desolate.
11:32
And those who act wickedly against the Covenant he shall corrupt through flatteries. But the people who know their Elohim shall be strong and act.
11:33
And those among the people who have understanding shall cause many to understand. Yet they shall stumble by sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by plunder, for days.
11:34
And when they stumble, they shall be helped with a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flatteries.
11:35
And some of those having understanding shall stumble to refine them, and purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end, for it is still for the appointed time.
11:36
And the king shall do according to his desire. And he shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every mighty one. And against the El of mighty ones he shall speak astonishing things. And he shall prosper until the indignation is completed, for what is decreed shall be done.
11:37
And he shall not regard the mighty ones of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any mighty one, for he shall magnify himself above all.
11:38
But in his place he shall honor a mighty one of fortresses, and a mighty one whom his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold, and silver, and precious stones, and desirable things.
11:39
And he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign mighty one. Those who acknowledge him he shall multiply with glory, and he shall cause them to rule over many and divide land for a price.
11:40
And at the time of the end, the king of the south shall push against him. And the king of the north shall storm against him with chariots, and horsemen, and many ships. And he shall enter the lands, and overflow, and pass through.
11:41
And he shall enter the Beautiful Land, and many shall stumble. But these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moav, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.
11:42
And he shall stretch out his hand against the lands, and the land of Mitsrayim shall not escape.
11:43
And he shall rule over the hidden treasures of gold and silver and over all the desirable things of Mitsrayim. And the Luvim and Kushim shall be at his steps.
11:44
But reports from the east and from the north shall terrify him. And he shall go out with great fury to destroy and devote many to destruction.
11:45
And he shall plant the tents of his royal pavilion between the seas and the mountain of the Beautiful Holiness. Yet he shall come to his end, and there shall be none to help him.
