1
And Yonah prayed to Yahuah his Elohim from the inward parts of the fish.
2
And he said: “I cried out from my distress to Yahuah, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I cried for help, and You heard my voice.
3
For You cast me into the depths, into the heart of the seas, and the current surrounded me. All Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.
4
And I said: ‘I have been driven away from before Your eyes. Yet I will again look toward Your holy Temple.’
5
Waters surrounded me to the being. The deep encircled me. Seaweed was wrapped around my head.
6
To the roots of the mountains I went down. The earth with its bars was behind me forever. Yet You brought my life up from the pit, Yahuah my Elohim.
7
When my being fainted within me, I remembered Yahuah. And my prayer came to You, into Your holy Temple.
8
Those who guard worthless vanities forsake their own covenant-faithfulness.
9
But I, with the voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. What I have vowed I will fulfill. Salvation belongs to Yahuah.”
10
And Yahuah spoke to the fish, and it vomited Yonah onto the dry land.
