1
And the Word of Yahuah came to Yonah a second time, saying:
2
“Rise. Go to Nineveh, the great city, and proclaim to it the proclamation that I speak to you.”
3
And Yonah rose and went to Nineveh according to the Word of Yahuah. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a journey of three days.
4
And Yonah began to enter into the city a journey of one day. And he cried out and said: “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overturned.”
5
And the men of Nineveh believed Elohim. And they proclaimed a fast and clothed themselves with sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.
6
And the word reached the king of Nineveh. And he rose from his throne, removed his robe from upon him, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7
And he caused a proclamation to be made and published through Nineveh, by decree of the king and his mighty ones, saying: “Let neither Adam nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Let them not feed, and let them not drink water.
8
But let Adam and beast be covered with sackcloth. And let them cry out mightily to Elohim. And let each ish turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
9
Who knows? Elohim may turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, and we shall not perish.”
10
And Elohim saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way. And Elohim relented concerning the evil that He had spoken to do to them, and He did not do it.
