1
Blow the shofar in Tziyon, and sound the alarm upon My holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the Day of Yahuah is coming, for it is near—
2
a day of darkness and gloom, a day of cloud and thick darkness. Like dawn spread upon the mountains comes a great and mighty people. There has never been anything like it, nor shall there be again after it through the years of generation upon generation.
3
Before them fire devours, and behind them flame burns. The land before them is like the Garden of Eden, but behind them a desolate wilderness, and nothing escapes them.
4
Their appearance is like the appearance of horses, and like horsemen so they run.
5
Like the sound of chariots upon the tops of mountains they leap, like the sound of a flame of fire devouring stubble, like a mighty people arranged for battle.
6
Before their face peoples writhe. Every face gathers paleness.
7
Like mighty men they run. Like men of war they climb the wall. Each ish walks in his way, and they do not turn aside from their paths.
8
And no ish presses his brother. Each ish walks in his own road. And through the weapons they fall, but they are not cut off.
9
They rush upon the city. They run upon the wall. They climb into the houses. Through the windows they enter like a thief.
10
Before them the earth trembles, the heavens shake. The sun and the moon grow dark, and the stars withdraw their brightness.
11
And Yahuah gives His voice before His army, for His camp is exceedingly great. For mighty is he who performs His Word. For great is the Day of Yahuah, and exceedingly fearful. And who can endure it?
12
“And even now,” declares Yahuah, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.
13
And tear your heart, and not your garments. And return to Yahuah your Elohim, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abundant in Covenant-Faithfulness, and He relents concerning evil.
14
Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him— a grain offering and a drink offering for Yahuah your Elohim.
15
Blow the shofar in Tziyon. Set apart a fast. Call a solemn assembly.
16
Gather the people. Set apart the congregation. Assemble the elders. Gather the children and those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, and the bride from her canopy.
17
Between the porch and the altar let the kohenim, the ministers of Yahuah, weep. And let them say: “Have compassion, Yahuah, upon Your People, and do not give Your Inheritance to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples: ‘Where is their Elohim?’”
18
Then Yahuah became jealous for His land and had compassion upon His People.
19
And Yahuah answered and said to His people: “See, I am sending you the grain, and the new wine, and the oil, and you shall be satisfied with them. And I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.
20
And the northern one I will remove far from you, and drive him into a dry and desolate land— his face toward the eastern sea, and his rear toward the western sea. And his stench shall rise, and his foul smell shall rise, because he has done great things.
21
Do not fear, O land. Rejoice and be glad, for Yahuah has done great things.
22
Do not fear, beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness have become green. For the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and the vine give their strength.
23
And you, sons of Tziyon, rejoice and be glad in Yahuah your Elohim. For He has given you the former rain in righteousness, and He causes rain to come down for you— the former rain and the latter rain as at the first.
24
And the threshing floors shall be full of grain, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
25
And I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust ate, the licking locust, the consuming locust, and the cutting locust— My great army that I sent among you.
26
And eating, you shall surely eat and be satisfied, and praise the Name of Yahuah your Elohim, who has dealt wondrously with you. And My People shall never again be put to shame.
27
And you shall know that I am in the midst of Yisra’el, and that I am Yahuah your Elohim, and there is no other. And My People shall never again be put to shame.
28
And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Ruach upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. Your elders shall dream dreams. Your young men shall see visions.
29
And even upon the servants and upon the maidservants in those days I will pour out My Ruach.
30
And I will give wonders in the heavens and upon the earth— blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31
The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and fearful Day of Yahuah.
32
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the Name of Yahuah shall escape. For on Mount Tziyon and in Yerushalayim there shall be deliverance, as Yahuah has said, and among the survivors whom Yahuah calls.
