1
When the sinner grew proud he struck down fortified walls with the battering ram, and You did not restrain him.
2
Foreign nations climbed to Your altar and trampled it under their sandals in pride.
3
This happened because the sons of Yerushalayim had defiled the set-apart things of Yahuah and polluted the gifts of Elohim with lawlessness.
4
Therefore He said, 'Cast them far away from Me.'
5
The beauty of their glory did not profit them; before Elohim it was dishonored.
6
Their sons and daughters went into grievous captivity; their necks bore the mark of servitude among the nations.
7
According to their sins He dealt with them and gave them into the hands of those who prevailed.
8
He turned His face from pitying them - young, old, and children together.
9
They had done evil with one consent and refused to listen.
10
Heaven was grieved at them, and the earth abhorred them.
11
No people upon the earth had done all that they had done.
12
Yet the earth recognized the righteousness of Your judgments.
13
The sons of Yerushalayim were exposed to shame because they had made the city a place of corruption.
14
Foreigners made an open spectacle of their lawlessness in broad daylight, just as they themselves had once done.
15
The daughters of Yerushalayim were violated according to the judgment because corruption had filled the city.
16
My belly and inward parts ache because of these things.
17
I said, 'Where will their end be?'
18
The destroyer acted as though no one ruled above him.
19
He came from the west with great force and entered the city without reverence.
20
He poured out blood, mocked rulers, and made the sanctuary common.
21
Yet the same one who boasted over land and sea did not remember that he was Adam and would die.
22
He said in his heart, 'I shall be master of land and sea.'
23
He did not recognize that Elohim alone is great and mighty in strength.
24
Yahuah is King over the heavens and judges kings and kingdoms.
25
He lifts one up in glory and casts the proud down into dishonor.
26
The foreign conqueror came to his end and was left without royal burial, his body dishonored beside the waters.
27
Therefore, rulers of the earth, behold the Judgment of Yahuah.
28
He is a great and righteous King, judging everything beneath heaven.
29
Bless Elohim, you who fear Yahuah with wisdom.
30
His mercy is upon those who fear Him in Judgment.
31
He distinguishes the righteous from the sinner and repays sinners according to their works.
32
He shows mercy to the righteous, delivering them from the affliction of sinners.
33
Yahuah is good to those who call upon Him with patience.
34
He deals according to His mercy with His devoted ones and establishes them before Him in strength.
35
Blessed is Yahuah forever before His servants.
