1
Distress and the sound of war reached my ear, the sound of a shofar announcing slaughter and calamity.
2
I heard the noise of a multitude like a violent wind, like a storm of fire sweeping through the south.
3
I said in my heart, 'Surely Elohim is judging us; the sound moves toward Yerushalayim, the set-apart city.'
4
My loins weakened at what I heard, my knees trembled, my heart feared, and my bones became weak.
5
I considered the judgments of Elohim from the creation of heaven and earth and declared His judgments righteous.
6
Elohim exposed their sins in broad daylight so that the whole earth would know His judgment.
7
In secret underground places they committed lawlessness and provoked Him.
8
They came to the altar from uncleanness and treated set-apart offerings as ordinary flesh.
9
They left no kind of sin undone in which they did not exceed the nations.
10
Therefore Elohim mixed for them a spirit of wandering and gave them a cup that made them stagger.
11
He brought the smiter from the end of the earth and appointed war against Yerushalayim and its land.
12
The rulers went out to meet the invader with joy, saying, 'Blessed is your way; enter in shalom.'
13
They made his rough path smooth and opened the gates of Yerushalayim.
14
He entered in security like a father entering the house of his sons.
15
He seized her fortresses and the wall of Yerushalayim, for Elohim allowed his path to succeed while the rulers wandered.
16
He destroyed their rulers and those considered wise in counsel.
17
He poured out the blood of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim and led sons and daughters into captivity.
18
They acted according to the uncleanness of their fathers and defiled Yerushalayim and the things hallowed to the Name.
19
Yet Elohim showed Himself righteous in His judgments upon the nations of the earth.
20
His devoted servants were like innocent lambs among them.
21
Worthy of praise is Yahuah, who judges the whole earth in righteousness.
22
Now, Elohim, You have shown us Your judgment, and our eyes have seen it.
23
We declare Your honored Name righteous forever, for You are the Elohim of righteousness who disciplines Yisra'el.
24
Turn Your mercy toward us and have compassion.
25
Do not overlook us lest the nations swallow us as though no one could deliver.
26
You are our Elohim from the beginning, and we will not depart from You, for Your judgments upon us are good.
27
Let Your good will be upon us and upon our children forever.
28
Yahuah our Deliverer, establish us so that we are not moved again.
29
Yahuah is worthy of praise for His judgments in the mouth of His devoted ones.
30
Blessed is Yisra'el of Yahuah forever.
