1
Now concerning the arrival of our Master Yahushua the Mashiyach and our gathering together to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,
2
not to be quickly shaken from sound thought or alarmed, whether by a spirit, a spoken word, or a letter as though from us, claiming that the day of the Master is already present.
3
Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the human being of lawlessness is revealed—the son of destruction,
4
who opposes and exalts himself above every one called a power or object of reverence, so that he seats himself in Elohim’s temple, presenting himself as Elohim.
5
Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I told you these things? 2
6
And now you know what restrains him, so that he may be revealed in his own appointed time.
7
For the mystery of lawlessness is already active; only the one restraining it now will continue until he is taken out of the midst.
8
Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Master Yahushua will destroy with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his arrival.
9
The lawless one’s arrival is according to the Adversary’s activity, with every power, false sign, and false wonder,
10
and with every deception of unrighteousness among those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of truth so that they might be delivered.
11
Because of this, Elohim sends them an activity of delusion, so that they trust the lie,
12
in order that all may be judged who did not trust the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.
13
But we are bound always to give thanks to Elohim for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Master, because Elohim chose you as firstfruits for deliverance through the Spirit’s setting apart and trust in truth.
14
He called you to this through our good message, for obtaining the glory of our Master Yahushua the Mashiyach.
15
Therefore, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold to the traditions you were taught, whether through our spoken word or through our letter.
16
Now may our Master Yahushua the Mashiyach himself, and Elohim our Father—who loved us and gave everlasting encouragement and good hope through favor—
17
encourage your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.
