1
Paulos, an emissary of Yahushua the Mashiyach by command of Elohim our Deliverer and of Yahushua the Mashiyach, our hope,
2
to Timotheos, a true son in faith: favor, mercy, and peace from Elohim the Father and from Yahushua the Mashiyach, our Master.
3
As I urged you when I was going into Makedonia, remain in Ephesos so that you may command certain people not to teach a different teaching,
4
nor to occupy themselves with myths and endless genealogies. These produce disputes rather than Elohim’s stewardship, which operates through faithfulness.
5
The aim of the command is love from a clean heart, a good conscience, and sincere faithfulness.
6
Some have missed these and turned aside into empty talk.
7
They want to be teachers of Torah, though they understand neither what they say nor the matters about which they speak so confidently.
8
We know that the Torah is good when someone uses it lawfully,
9
understanding this: law is not laid down for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious, the irreverent and sinful, the unclean and profane, those who strike fathers or mothers, murderers,
10
sexually immoral people, males who lie with males, enslavers of human beings, liars, perjurers, and anything else opposed to sound instruction,
11
according to the good message of the glory of the blessed Elohim, which was entrusted to me.
12
I give thanks to Yahushua the Mashiyach, our Master, who strengthened me, because he judged me faithful and appointed me to service,
13
though formerly I was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a violent man. Yet I received mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,
14
and the favor of our Master overflowed with the faithfulness and love that are in Yahushua the Mashiyach.
15
This saying is trustworthy and worthy of full acceptance: Yahushua the Mashiyach came into the world to deliver sinners, of whom I am foremost.
16
Yet for this reason I received mercy: so that in me, the foremost, Yahushua the Mashiyach might display his full patience as a pattern for those who would afterward trust in him for everlasting life.
17
Now to the King of the ages, incorruptible, unseen, the only Elohim, be honor and glory through the ages of ages. Amein.
18
This charge I entrust to you, my son Timotheos, in accordance with the prophecies formerly spoken concerning you, so that by them you may wage the good campaign,
19
holding faithfulness and a good conscience. Some rejected conscience and made shipwreck of their faithfulness.
20
Among them are Hymenaios and Alexandros, whom I handed over to the Adversary so that they may be disciplined not to blaspheme.
