1
First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
2
for kings and all who hold high position, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all reverence and dignity.
3
This is good and acceptable before Elohim our Deliverer,
4
who desires all people to be delivered and to come to a knowledge of truth.
5
For there is one Elohim, and one mediator between Elohim and human beings: the human being Yahushua the Mashiyach,
6
who gave himself as a ransom on behalf of all—the testimony given at its proper time.
7
For this testimony I was appointed a herald and emissary—I speak truth; I do not lie—a teacher of the nations in faithfulness and truth.
8
Therefore I desire the men in every place to pray, lifting clean hands without anger or quarrelling.
9
Likewise, I desire women to clothe themselves in respectable dress, with modesty and sound judgment—not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or costly clothing,
10
but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence toward Elohim.
11
Let a woman learn in quietness, with full submission.
12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; she is to remain quiet.
13
For Adam was formed first, then Chavah.
14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, came into transgression.
15
Yet she will be preserved through childbearing, if they remain in faithfulness, love, and set-apartness with sound judgment.
