1
Then after fourteen years I went up again to Yerushalayim with Bar-Nabba, taking Titus also with me.
2
And I went up according to revelation. And I set before them the besorah which I proclaim among the nations— but privately before those regarded as leaders— lest somehow I should be running, or had run, in vain.
3
But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
4
But because of false brothers secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy upon the freedom which we have in Yahushua the Anointed, so that they might bring us into bondage—
5
to them we did not yield in submission, not even for an hour, so that the truth of the Besorah might remain with you.
6
But from those regarded as being something— whatever they once were makes no difference to me; Elohim does not receive the face of Adam— those regarded as leaders added nothing to me.
7
Rather, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Besorah to the uncircumcised, just as Kepha to the circumcised—
8
for the One who worked through Kepha for emissary-work among the circumcised also worked through me toward the nations—
9
and when Yaaqov, Kepha, and Yochanan, those regarded as pillars, recognized the grace given to me, they gave to me and Bar-Nabba the right hand of fellowship, so that we should go to the nations and they to the circumcised.
10
Only that we should remember the poor— the very thing I was also eager to do.
11
But when Kepha came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned in the matter.
12
For before certain men came from Yaaqov, he was eating with those from the nations. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision.
13
And the rest of the Yehudim joined him in this hypocrisy, so that even Bar-Nabba was carried away with their hypocrisy.
14
But when I saw that they were not walking straight according to the truth of the Besorah, I said to Kepha before everyone: “If you, being a Yehudi, live together with the nations and not according to the boundary-customs of the Yehudim, how can you compel those from the nations to live as Yehudim?”
15
We ourselves are Yehudim by birth and not sinners from the nations,
16
yet knowing that an Adam is not made righteous by works of Torah-boundary but through the faithfulness of Yahushua the Anointed, we also trusted in Yahushua the Anointed, so that we might be made righteous through the faithfulness of the Anointed and not through works of Torah-boundary, because by works of Torah-boundary no flesh shall be made righteous.
17
But if, while seeking to be made righteous in the Anointed, we ourselves were also found to be sinners, is the Anointed therefore a servant of sin? Certainly not.
18
For if I rebuild the things I tore down, I establish myself as a transgressor.
19
For through Torah I died to the condemning claim of Torah, so that I might live to Elohim.
20
I have been executed with the Anointed. And I no longer live as the former self, but the Anointed lives in me. And the life I now live in flesh, I live in trust toward the Son of Elohim, who loved me and gave himself for me.
21
I do not nullify the grace of Elohim. For if righteousness comes through the boundary-works of Torah, then the Anointed died for nothing.
