1
Kepha, an emissary of Yahushua the Anointed, to the chosen ones living as dispersed sojourners through Pontus, Galatia, Kappadokia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2
chosen according to the foreknowledge of Elohim the Father, through the setting apart of Ruach, for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Yahushua the Anointed— favor and shalom be multiplied to you.
3
Blessed is the Elohim and Father of our Master Yahushua the Anointed, who according to His great compassion caused us to be born anew into a living hope through the resurrection of Yahushua the Anointed from the dead,
4
into an Inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and unfading, kept in the heavens for you,
5
who are being guarded by the power of Elohim through trust, for a deliverance ready to be revealed at the last appointed time.
6
In this you greatly rejoice, though now, if it is necessary, for a little while you have been grieved by various trials,
7
so that the proving of your trust— more precious than gold which perishes though tested through fire— may be found for praise, and glory, and honor at the revelation of Yahushua the Anointed.
8
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not see him now, yet trusting in him, you rejoice with joy beyond speech and filled with glory,
9
receiving the outcome of your trust— the deliverance of your beings.
10
Concerning this deliverance, the prophets searched and investigated carefully— those who prophesied concerning the favor that was to come to you.
11
They searched what time or what kind of appointed time the Ruach of the Anointed within them was indicating, when testifying beforehand concerning the sufferings appointed for the Anointed and the glories after them.
12
It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves, but you, in the things now announced to you through those who proclaimed the Besorah to you by Holy Ruach sent from the heavens— things into which the messengers desire to look deeply.
13
Therefore, gird up the loins of your understanding. Remain sober. Set your hope completely upon the favor being brought to you at the revelation of Yahushua the Anointed.
14
As children of obedience, do not shape yourselves according to the former desires you had in your ignorance.
15
But according to the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your conduct,
16
because it is written: “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
17
And if you call upon the Father, the One who judges without partiality according to the work of each one, conduct yourselves in reverent fear through the time of your sojourning,
18
knowing that you were not redeemed from the empty way of life handed down from your fathers with corruptible things— silver or gold—
19
but with precious blood, like that of a lamb without blemish and without defect— the blood of the Anointed.
20
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last appointed times for you,
21
who through him trust in Elohim— the One who raised him from the dead and gave him glory— so that your trust and hope are toward Elohim.
22
Having purified your beings through obedience to the truth for sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
23
having been born anew, not from corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the living and enduring Word of Elohim.
24
For: “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,
25
but the Word of Yahuah remains to the age.” And this is the Word that was proclaimed to you through the Besorah.
