1
Therefore I exhort the elders among you, I who am also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of the Anointed, and also a sharer in the glory about to be revealed:
2
shepherd the flock of Elohim among you, watching over it not by compulsion, but willingly, according to Elohim; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;
3
not ruling as masters over those entrusted to you, but becoming examples to the flock.
4
And when the Chief Shepherd is revealed, you shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
5
Likewise, you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because: “Elohim opposes the proud, but gives favor to the humble.”
6
Therefore humble yourselves beneath the mighty hand of Elohim, so that He may lift you up at the appointed time,
7
casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.
8
Be sober. Keep watch. Your adversary, the accuser, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
9
Resist him, firm in trust, knowing that the same kinds of sufferings are being completed among your brothers throughout the world.
10
And the Elohim of all favor, who called you into His everlasting glory in the Anointed, after you have suffered a little while, shall Himself restore you, establish you, strengthen you, and set you firmly.
11
To Him be dominion to the ages. Amen.
12
Through Silvanus, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true favor of Elohim. Stand firmly in it.
13
She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you greetings, and so does Marqos my son.
14
Greet one another with a kiss of love. Shalom to all of you who are in the Anointed.
