1
Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing to you, in both of which I awaken your sincere understanding through remembrance,
2
so that you may remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Master and Deliverer through your emissaries.
3
Know this first: in the last days mockers shall come with mocking, walking according to their own desires
4
and saying: “Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things remain just as they were from the beginning of creation.”
5
For this escapes them by their own willing ignorance: that long ago the heavens existed, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the Word of Elohim,
6
through which the world that then existed was flooded with water and destroyed.
7
But the heavens and the earth that now exist are being kept by the same Word for fire, being preserved for the day of Judgment and destruction of the wicked Adam.
8
But do not let this one thing escape you, beloved ones: with Yahuah one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
9
Yahuah is not slow concerning the promise, as some consider slowness, but is patient toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should come to turning back.
10
But the day of Yahuah shall come like a thief. In that day the heavens shall pass away with a roar, and the elements shall be dissolved with intense heat, and the earth and the works done in it shall be exposed.
11
Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what kind of people ought you to be in holy conduct and devotion,
12
waiting for and hastening toward the coming of the day of Elohim, because of which the heavens, being set on fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with intense heat.
13
But according to His promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which Righteousness dwells.
14
Therefore, beloved ones, while waiting for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in shalom, without stain and without blemish.
15
And regard the patience of our Master as deliverance, just as our beloved brother Paulos also wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him,
16
as also in all his letters when speaking in them concerning these things. In them are some things difficult to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist, as they also do the other sefarim, to their own destruction.
17
You therefore, beloved ones, knowing these things beforehand, guard yourselves, lest you be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your own firmness.
18
But grow in favor and in the knowledge of our Master and Deliverer, Yahushua the Anointed. To him be glory both now and to the day of the age. Amen.
