1
Yaaqov, a servant of Elohim and of the Master Yahushua the Anointed, to the twelve tribes in the dispersion— shalom.
2
My brothers, consider it complete joy whenever you fall into various trials,
3
knowing that the testing of your trust produces endurance.
4
And let endurance complete its work, so that you may be complete and whole, lacking nothing.
5
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.
6
But let him ask in trust, dividing nothing within himself. For the one who divides within himself is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
7
For that ish must not suppose that he shall receive anything from Yahuah.
8
He is an ish divided in heart, unstable in all his ways.
9
But let the brother of low position boast in his exaltation,
10
and the rich in his being brought low, because like a flower of grass he shall pass away.
11
For the sun rises with burning heat and dries up the grass. Its flower falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So also the rich ish shall wither away in the midst of his pursuits.
12
Blessed is the ish who endures testing, because after being proved, he shall receive the crown of life, which was promised to those who love Him.
13
Let no one, when being tested, say: “I am being tested by Elohim.” For Elohim is not tested by evil, and He Himself tests no one with evil.
14
But each one is tested when he is drawn away and enticed by his own desire.
15
Then desire, having conceived, gives birth to sin. And sin, when fully grown, brings forth death.
16
Do not be led astray, my beloved brothers.
17
Every good gift and every complete gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.
18
According to His will, He brought us forth through the Word of Truth, so that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.
19
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every Adam be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.
20
For the anger of Adam does not produce the Righteousness of Elohim.
21
Therefore, putting away all moral uncleanness and the abundance of wickedness, receive with humility the Word planted within you, which is able to deliver your beings.
22
But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23
For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like an ish looking at the face of his birth in a mirror.
24
For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of ish he was.
25
But the one who looks deeply into the complete Torah— the Torah of freedom— and remains in it, not becoming a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one shall be blessed in what he does.
26
If anyone considers himself devout but does not restrain his tongue, instead deceiving his own heart, the devotion of this one is empty.
27
Pure and undefiled devotion before Elohim the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction, and to guard oneself unstained from the world.
