1
Because of this, we must give even greater attention to the things we heard, lest we drift past them.
2
For if the word spoken through messengers proved firm, and every transgression and disobedience received a righteous repayment,
3
how shall we escape if we neglect so great a deliverance— which, having received its beginning through the Master, was confirmed to us by those who heard,
4
Elohim also bearing witness with signs, and wonders, and various mighty works, and distributions of Holy Ruach according to His will?
5
For He did not subject the inhabited world that is coming, concerning which we speak, to messengers.
6
But someone testified somewhere, saying: “What is Adam that You remember him, or the son of Adam that You visit him?
7
You made him a little lower than the messengers; with glory and honor You crowned him,
8
and subjected all things beneath his feet.” For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing not subjected to him. Yet now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
9
But we see Yahushua, who was made a little lower than the messengers because of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of Elohim he might taste death for everyone.
10
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make complete through sufferings the leader of their deliverance.
11
For both the one setting apart and those being set apart are all from One. Because of this he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
12
saying: “I shall declare Your Name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I shall sing praise to You.”
13
And again: “I shall place my trust in Him.” And again: “See— I and the children whom Elohim gave me.”
14
Therefore, since the children share in blood and flesh, he himself likewise shared in the same, so that through death he might bring to nothing the one holding the power of death— that is, the adversary—
15
and release those who through fear of death were held in slavery throughout their lives.
16
For surely he does not take hold of messengers, but he takes hold of the Seed of Avraham.
17
Therefore he was obligated to become like his brothers in all things, so that he might become a merciful and faithful great kohen in the things toward Elohim, to make covering for the sins of the people.
18
For because he himself suffered when tested, he is able to help those being tested.
