1
But I determined this within myself: not to come again to you in grief.
2
For if I grieve you, who then makes me glad, except the one grieved by me?
3
And I wrote this very thing, so that when I came I might not have grief from those from whom I ought to have joy, being confident concerning all of you that my joy belongs to all of you.
4
For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you through many tears, not so that you would be grieved, but so that you might know the love which I have more abundantly toward you.
5
But if anyone has caused grief, he has not grieved me only, but in part— so that I do not burden the matter— all of you.
6
Sufficient for such a one is this correction given by the majority.
7
Therefore instead you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest somehow such a one be swallowed up by excessive grief.
8
Therefore I urge you to confirm your love toward him.
9
For to this end I also wrote, so that I might know the proof of you— whether you are obedient in all things.
10
And whoever you forgive anything, I also forgive. For what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I have done so for your sake before the Anointed,
11
so that we might not be taken advantage of by the adversary, for we are not ignorant of his designs.
12
Now when I came to Troas for the Besorah of the Anointed, and a door was opened for me in the Master,
13
I had no rest in my ruach because I did not find Titos my brother. But taking leave of them, I went out toward Macedonia.
14
But thanks be to Elohim, who always leads us in triumph in the Anointed and through us makes manifest the fragrance of the knowledge of him in every place.
15
For we are the fragrance of the Anointed to Elohim among those being delivered and among those perishing—
16
to the one, a fragrance from death toward death; to the other, a fragrance from life toward life. And who is sufficient for these things?
17
For we are not like the many who trade in the Word of Elohim, but as from sincerity, but as from Elohim, before Elohim, in the Anointed we speak.
