1
Barnabas turns to fasting.
2
He cites the prophetic rebuke of fasting that merely bends the neck, wears sackcloth, and sits in ashes while injustice remains.
3
The chosen fast is to loosen bonds of wickedness, break oppressive agreements, release the crushed, and tear apart every unjust yoke.
4
It is also to share bread with the hungry, clothe the naked, bring the homeless into one's house, and refuse contempt toward one's own kin.
5
Then, says the prophetic Word, light breaks forth, healing rises, Righteousness goes ahead, and the glory of Elohim surrounds the obedient.
6
Barnabas says this was revealed beforehand so believers would not be shipwrecked by mistaking outward ritual for the substance of the command.
