1
Barnabas turns to the Temple.
2
He criticizes confidence in a building as though Elohim were contained by human hands.
3
He cites the prophetic Word: the heavens are the Throne and the earth the footstool; what house can Adam build for Yahuah?
4
He recalls the destruction of the earthly sanctuary and interprets rebuilding language through a spiritual Temple.
5
He says before trust the human heart was like a corrupt house filled with idolatry and works opposed to Elohim.
6
Through release from sins and renewed trust, the person becomes a new creation.
7
He says Elohim now dwells through the Word of trust, the call of promise, wisdom of ordinances, and commands of teaching.
8
The mouth becomes like an opened Temple-door through confession and proclamation.
9
The one seeking salvation is therefore not to fix hope on human structures, but on the One dwelling and speaking within the renewed people.
10
Barnabas calls this the spiritual Temple being built for the Master.
