1
Yahuah Shaddai, You alone truly are Elohim; You existed before everything that came to be.
2
You are without beginning and without end, uncreated, without need, without master, without rival, and beyond every boundary.
3
You are known by no bodily image and contained by no place.
4
You are light beyond created light, knowledge beyond created understanding, and life from which every living thing receives existence.
5
You brought what did not exist into being by Your will.
6
You established the heavens and stretched them out like a covering.
7
You founded the earth upon its order and gathered the sea within appointed boundaries.
8
You made the lights: sun for day, moon and stars for seasons, signs, months, and years.
9
You made the hosts above, the heavenly rulers and messengers who serve Your command.
10
You established fire, air, water, and earth and ordered their mutual boundaries.
11
You separated light from darkness, dry land from sea, and one season from another.
12
You brought forth plants, herbs, seed, fruit, forests, and every form of growth.
13
You filled the waters with living creatures, the air with winged beings, and the land with animals of every kind.
14
You did not make one undifferentiated world but assigned each creature its fitting nature and providence.
15
You ordered rain-bearing clouds, lightning, thunder, winds, dew, heat, cold, and the changing atmosphere so that living things might be sustained.
16
You balanced winds according to command and gave the earth strength to produce food.
17
You formed Adam as the rational inhabitant of the world and declared him according to Your image and likeness.
18
You formed his body from the elements and gave the soul rational discrimination.
19
You gave him the five senses and the power of movement.
20
You placed within him discernment between righteousness and lawlessness and between reverence and impiety.
21
You gave implanted law and afterward written Torah.
22
Adam disobeyed, and death entered his condition.
23
Yet You did not utterly destroy Your creature; You promised resurrection after temporary dissolution.
24
You called Avraham from the godlessness of his ancestors, made him heir according to promise, and showed him Your covenantal purpose.
25
You gave him Yitzchaq and established Yaaqov as father of the tribes.
26
You brought Yoseph into Mitsrayim by providence and used suffering to preserve a people.
27
You multiplied the children of Yisra'el and heard them under oppression.
28
You sent Mosheh and Aharon, judged Mitsrayim, brought Your people out, divided the sea, and destroyed the oppressing power.
29
You sweetened bitter water, gave water from rock, gave manna, and sustained the people in the wilderness.
30
You gave Torah at Sinai and established judgments, commandments, sacred service, and the order of the priesthood.
31
You appointed Yehoshua ben Nun and brought the people into inheritance.
32
You raised judges when enemies oppressed them.
33
You gave kings according to the history of the people and established Daviyd according to Your purpose.
34
You sent prophets to rebuke, warn, console, and recall the people toward Torah.
35
You punished transgression yet repeatedly restored those who turned.
36
You allowed exile yet remembered Covenant and brought a remnant back.
37
You tore the Yarden and dried waters before Your people; walls fell without siege-machines when You decreed it.
38
All Your works proclaim that history is no less under Your hand than creation.
39
Therefore the rational creature owes You thanksgiving according to the measure possible to it, though no length of life is enough to thank You fully.
40
Myriads of heavenly messengers worship You.
41
Keruvim and six-winged serafim stand before You.
42
Thousands upon thousands and ten thousands upon ten thousands cry continually:
43
Set apart, set apart, set apart is Yahuah Tzeva'ot; heaven and earth are filled with His glory.
44
Blessed is the One whose reign does not pass away.
45
To You belong glory, honor, thanksgiving, reverence, and worship through every age.
C1
The present Christian recension places an extensive Christological section near the beginning: Son, Word, Wisdom, incarnation, virgin birth, earthly ministry, passion, and resurrection.
C2
It also Christianizes Avraham by saying he was shown Christ, interprets creation 'through Christ,' inserts Christian salvation history into the biblical sequence, and attaches Christian eucharistic framing.
C3
The closing heavenly worship is transmitted with Christian Trinitarian and eucharistic formulas.
