1
And it came to pass, after many days, after Yahuah had given rest to Yisra’el from all their enemies all around, and Yehoshua was old, advanced in days,
2
that Yehoshua called for all Yisra’el, for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said to them, “I am old, advanced in days.
3
And you have seen all that Yahuah your Elohim has done to all these nations before your face, for Yahuah your Elohim—He is the One who fought for you.
4
See, I have caused these remaining nations to fall to you as an inheritance for your tribes, from the Yarden, with all the nations that I cut off, even to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun.
5
And Yahuah your Elohim—He will thrust them out from before your face and dispossess them from before you, and you shall possess their land, according to what Yahuah your Elohim spoke to you.
6
Therefore be exceedingly strong to guard and to do all that is written in the sefer of the Torah of Mosheh, not turning aside from it to the right or to the left,
7
so that you do not go among these nations, these that remain with you. And the names of their elohim you shall not cause to be remembered, and you shall not swear by them, and you shall not serve them, and you shall not bow yourselves to them.
8
But to Yahuah your Elohim you shall cling, as you have done to this day.
9
For Yahuah has dispossessed from before your face great and mighty nations, and as for you, not an ish has stood before your face to this day.
10
One ish from among you pursues a thousand, for Yahuah your Elohim—He is the One who fights for you, according to what He spoke to you.
11
And guard yourselves exceedingly for your beings, to love Yahuah your Elohim.
12
For if turning, you turn back and cling to the remnant of these nations, these that remain with you, and intermarry with them, and go in among them, and they among you,
13
knowing, you shall surely know that Yahuah your Elohim will no longer continue to dispossess these nations from before your face. And they shall be to you as a snare and as a trap, and as a scourge upon your sides, and as thorns in your eyes, until you perish from upon this good land that Yahuah your Elohim has given you.
14
And see, today I am going in the way of all the earth. And you know with all your heart and with all your being that not one word has fallen from all the good words that Yahuah your Elohim spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word from them has fallen.
15
And it shall be, just as every good word that Yahuah your Elohim spoke concerning you has come upon you, so Yahuah will bring upon you every evil word, until He has destroyed you from upon this good land that Yahuah your Elohim has given you,
16
when you transgress the covenant of Yahuah your Elohim that He commanded you, and go and serve other elohim and bow yourselves to them. Then the anger of Yahuah will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from upon the good land that He has given you.
