1
In his days Nevukhadnetzar king of Bavel went up, and Yehoyaqim became his servant for three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.
2
And Yahuah sent against him raiding bands of the Kasdim, and raiding bands of Aram, and raiding bands of Moav, and raiding bands of the sons of Ammon. And He sent them against Yehudah to destroy it, according to the Word of Yahuah that He had spoken by the hand of His servants the prophets.
3
Surely, according to the Mouth of Yahuah, this came upon Yehudah, to remove them from before His face because of the sins of Menasheh, according to all that he had done,
4
and also because of the innocent blood that he shed, for he filled Yerushalayim with innocent blood. And Yahuah was not willing to forgive.
5
And the rest of the matters of Yehoyaqim, and all that he did, are they not written in the Sefer of the Matters of the Days of the Kings of Yehudah?
6
And Yehoyaqim lay down with his fathers. And Yehoyakhin his son reigned in his place.
7
And the king of Mitzrayim did not again go out from his land, for the king of Bavel had taken from the wadi of Mitzrayim as far as the River Perat all that belonged to the king of Mitzrayim.
8
Yehoyakhin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Yerushalayim. And the name of his mother was Nechushta daughter of Elnatan, from Yerushalayim.
9
And he did what was evil in the eyes of Yahuah, according to all that his father had done.
10
At that time the servants of Nevukhadnetzar king of Bavel went up against Yerushalayim, and the city came under siege.
11
And Nevukhadnetzar king of Bavel came against the city while his servants were besieging it.
12
And Yehoyakhin king of Yehudah went out to the king of Bavel, he and his mother, and his servants, and his commanders, and his eunuchs. And the king of Bavel took him in the eighth year of his reign.
13
And he brought out from there all the treasures of the House of Yahuah and the treasures of the house of the king, and he cut apart all the vessels of gold that Shəlomah king of Yisra’el had made in the Temple of Yahuah, according to the Word of Yahuah.
14
And he carried captive all Yerushalayim, and all the commanders, and all the mighty men of strength—ten thousand captives—and every craftsman and smith. None remained except the poorest people of the land.
15
And he carried Yehoyakhin captive to Bavel. And the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the mighty of the land, he carried captive from Yerushalayim to Bavel.
16
And all the men of strength, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, one thousand—all mighty men who made war—the king of Bavel brought them captive to Bavel.
17
And the king of Bavel made Mattanyah, uncle of Yehoyakhin, king in his place, and changed his name to Tzidqiyahu.
18
Tzidqiyahu was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim. And the name of his mother was Chamutal daughter of Yirmeyahu, from Livnah.
19
And he did what was evil in the eyes of Yahuah, according to all that Yehoyaqim had done.
20
For because of the anger of Yahuah it came to pass in Yerushalayim and Yehudah, until He cast them from before His face. And Tzidqiyahu rebelled against the king of Bavel.
