1
And Daviyd consulted with the commanders of thousands and hundreds, with every ruler.
2
Daviyd said to all the assembly of Yisra’el, “If it is good to you, and if it is from Yahuah our Elohim, let us spread out and send to our brothers remaining throughout all the lands of Yisra’el, and with them to the Kohenim and Leviyim in the cities of their pasturelands, that they may gather to us.
3
And let us bring the Ark of our Elohim around to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Shaul.”
4
And all the assembly said to do so, for the matter was upright in the eyes of all the people.
5
So Daviyd assembled all Yisra’el, from Shichor of Mitzrayim as far as the entrance of Chammat, to bring the Ark of Elohim from Qiryat-Yearim.
6
And Daviyd and all Yisra’el went up to Baalah, to Qiryat-Yearim that belongs to Yehudah, to bring up from there the Ark of Elohim—Yahuah, who dwells between the keruvim, upon which the Name is called.
7
And they mounted the Ark of Elohim upon a new cart from the House of Avinadav; and Uzza and Achyo drove the cart.
8
Daviyd and all Yisra’el were rejoicing before Elohim with all strength, with songs, lyres, harps, timbrels, cymbals, and trumpets.
9
When they came as far as the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzza stretched out his hand to seize the Ark, because the cattle stumbled.
10
And the anger of Yahuah burned against Uzza, and He struck him because he stretched out his hand upon the Ark; and he died there before Elohim.
11
And it burned within Daviyd because Yahuah broke forth with a breach against Uzza. He called that place Peretz-Uzza to this day.
12
Daviyd feared Elohim that day, saying, “How shall I bring the Ark of Elohim to me?”
13
So Daviyd did not turn the Ark toward himself into the City of Daviyd, but turned it aside to the House of Oved-Edom the Gitti.
14
The Ark of Elohim remained with the House of Oved-Edom in his house three new moons; and Yahuah blessed the House of Oved-Edom and all that belonged to him.
