1
Then Iyov answered and said:
2
“Truly you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
3
I also have a heart like you; I do not fall beneath you. And with whom are there no things like these?
4
I am a mockery to my companion— one calling to Eloah, and He answered him. The righteous and complete one is a mockery.
5
A torch is contemptible in the thoughts of one at ease, prepared for those whose foot slips.
6
The tents of destroyers are at shalom, and those provoking El have security— the one into whose hand Eloah brings.
7
But ask, please, the animals, and they shall teach you; the flying creatures of the heavens, and they shall declare to you.
8
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you; and the fish of the sea shall recount it to you.
9
Who among all these does not know that the hand of Yahuah has done this?
10
In whose hand is the being of every living one and the ruach of all flesh of ish.
11
Does not the ear test words, as the palate tastes food?
12
Is wisdom with the aged, and understanding in length of days?
13
With Him are wisdom and might; to Him belong counsel and understanding.
14
See, He tears down, and it is not built; He shuts upon an ish, and it is not opened.
15
See, He restrains waters, and they dry; He sends them, and they overturn the earth.
16
With Him are strength and sound wisdom; the straying one and the one causing to stray are His.
17
He leads counselors stripped and makes judges foolish.
18
He opens the discipline of sovereigns and binds a belt upon their loins.
19
He leads Kohenim stripped and overturns the enduring.
20
He removes the speech of the trusted and takes away the discernment of the elders.
21
He pours contempt upon nobles and loosens the belt of the strong.
22
He uncovers deep things from darkness and brings death-shadow to light.
23
He causes nations to increase and destroys them; He spreads out nations and leads them away.
24
He removes the heart of the heads of the people of the earth and causes them to wander in a wasteland without a way.
25
They grope in darkness without light, and He causes them to wander like one drunk.
