1
Then Iyov answered and said:
2
“Even today my complaint is rebellion; my hand is heavy over my sighing.
3
Who shall grant that I know where to find Him, that I might enter unto His established place?
4
I would arrange Judgment before His face and fill my mouth with arguments.
5
I would know the Words with which He answers me and understand what He says to me.
6
Would He contend with me in great power? No; surely He would set it upon me.
7
There the upright would argue with Him, and I would be delivered forever from my Judge.
8
See, I walk east, but He is not there; west, but I do not discern Him;
9
north, where He works, but I do not behold Him; He wraps the south, but I do not see Him.
10
Yet He knows the Way with me; He tests me, and I shall come forth as gold.
11
My foot has held firmly to His step; I guarded His Way and did not turn aside.
12
I did not move back from the command of His lips; from my appointed portion I treasured the Words of His mouth.
13
But He is One, and who can turn Him? His being desires, and He does it.
14
For He completes what is appointed for me, and many things like these are with Him.
15
Therefore I am terrified before His face; I consider, and I dread Him.
16
El has made my heart soft, and Shaddai has terrified me.
17
For I was not cut off before darkness, and He did not conceal thick darkness from my face.
