1
Then these three mighty ones ceased answering Iyov, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
2
But the anger of Elihu son of Barakhel the Buzi, from the family of Ram, burned. His anger burned against Iyov because he declared his being righteous beyond Elohim.
3
And his anger burned against his three companions because they had found no answer, yet condemned Iyov.
4
Elihu had waited for Iyov in words because they were older in days than he.
5
When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three mighty ones, his anger burned.
6
Then Elihu son of Barakhel the Buzi answered and said: “I am young in days, and you are aged; therefore I crawled back and feared to declare my knowledge to you.
7
I said, ‘Let days speak, and let an abundance of years make wisdom known.’
8
Surely there is a ruach in mortal man, and the breath of Shaddai gives them understanding.
9
The great are not always wise, nor do elders always understand Judgment.
10
Therefore I say, ‘Hear me; I also shall declare my knowledge.’
11
See, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your understandings until you searched out sayings.
12
I considered you closely, but see, none of you corrected Iyov or answered his words.
13
Lest you say, ‘We found wisdom; El shall drive him away, not ish.’
14
Yet he did not arrange words against me, and I shall not answer him with your sayings.
15
They are shattered; they answer no more; words have moved away from them.
16
Shall I wait because they do not speak, because they stand and answer no more?
17
I also shall answer my portion; I also shall declare my knowledge.
18
For I am full of words; the ruach of my belly presses me.
19
See, my belly is like wine that is not opened, like new wineskins it is about to split.
20
I shall speak and breathe; I shall open my lips and answer.
21
Please, let me not lift the face of an ish, and let me not give flattering titles to Adam.
22
For I do not know how to give flattering titles; in a little time my Maker would carry me away.
