1
The wisdom of the humble raises his head and seats him among great ones.
2
Do not praise an ish because of his beauty, and do not detest an Adam because of his appearance.
3
The bee is small among flying creatures, yet her fruit is first among sweet things.
4
Do not boast in the clothing wrapped around you, and do not exalt yourself in a day of honor. For the works of Yahuah are wondrous, and His works are hidden from Adam.
5
Many tyrants have sat upon the ground, while one never suspected has worn a diadem.
6
Many rulers have been greatly dishonored, and honored ones delivered into the hands of others.
7
Do not accuse before you examine; understand first, and then correct.
8
Do not answer before you hear, and do not interrupt in the midst of words.
9
Do not quarrel over a matter that is not your concern, and do not sit within the judgment of sinners.
10
My son, do not let your dealings be scattered among many things. If you multiply them, you shall not remain innocent; if you chase them, you shall not overtake them, and though you flee, you shall not escape.
11
There is one who labors, struggles, and hastens, yet falls further behind.
12
There is another who is slow and needs help, lacking strength and abounding in poverty; yet the eyes of Yahuah look upon him for good and raise him from his humiliation.
13
He lifts his head, and many marvel at him.
14
Good and evil, life and death, poverty and wealth are from Yahuah. 17 The gift of Yahuah remains with the reverent, and His delight causes prosperity into the age. 18 There is one who becomes wealthy through attention and restraint, and this is the portion of his reward: 19 when he says, “I have found rest, and now I shall eat from my good things,” he does not know what appointed time shall pass over him. He shall leave them to others and die. 20 Stand within your covenant and remain occupied in it; grow old within your work. 21 Do not marvel at the works of a sinner. Trust Yahuah and remain in your labor, for it is light in the eyes of Yahuah to make a poor man wealthy suddenly and quickly. 22 The blessing of Yahuah is within the reward of the reverent, and in a swift hour He makes His blessing blossom. 23 Do not say, “What do I still need, and what good can be mine from now on?” 24 Do not say, “I have enough, and what evil can touch me from now on?” 25 In a day of good, evil is forgotten; in a day of evil, good is not remembered. 26 For it is light before Yahuah, on the day of completion, to repay an Adam according to his Ways. 27 The affliction of one hour causes delight to be forgotten, and at the completion of an Adam his works are uncovered. 28 Do not call anyone blessed before completion; an ish shall be known through his children. 29 Do not bring every Adam into your house, for many are the snares of the deceitful. 30 Like a hunting partridge within a cage is the heart of the proud; like a spy, he watches for a fall. 31 He lies in wait, transforming good into evil, and he places a blemish upon chosen things. 32 From one spark a heap of coals multiplies, and a sinful Adam lies in wait for blood. 33 Guard yourself from an evildoer, for he engineers evil, lest he place an enduring blemish upon you. 34 Lodge a foreigner, and he may twist you through disturbances and estrange you from your own household.
