1
Wisdom shall praise her own being and shall boast in the midst of her people.
2
In the assembly of El Elyon she opens her mouth, and before His host she boasts:
3
“I came forth from the Mouth of El Elyon, and like mist I covered the earth.
4
I dwelt in the heights, and my throne was in a pillar of cloud.
5
I alone encircled the circuit of heaven and walked in the depth of the abysses.
6
Over the waves of the sea and over all the earth, and within every people and nation, I gained possession.
7
Among all these I sought rest and asked, ‘Within whose inheritance shall I lodge?’
8
Then the Creator of all commanded me; the One who created me caused my tent to rest. He said, ‘Dwell in Yaaqov, and receive your inheritance in Yisra’el.’
9
Before the age, from the beginning, He created me, and unto the age I shall not cease.
10
In the set-apart Tent I ministered before Him, and so I was established in Tziyon.
11
In the beloved city He likewise caused me to rest, and in Yerushalayim was my authority.
12
I took root among a people of splendor, in the portion of Yahuah, His inheritance.
13
Like a cedar I was raised in Levanon, and like a cypress upon the mountains of Chermon.
14
Like a palm I was raised in Ein Gedi, and like rose-plants in Yericho; like a beautiful olive tree in the plain, and I was raised like a plane tree.
15
Like cinnamon and fragrant cane I gave forth aroma; like chosen myrrh I spread fragrance, like galbanum and onycha and stacte, and like the smoke of frankincense in the Tent.
16
Like a terebinth I stretched out my branches, and my branches were branches of splendor and favor.
17
Like a vine I brought forth favor, and my blossoms were fruit of splendor and wealth.
18
I am the mother of beautiful love, of reverence, knowledge, and set-apart hope; enduring, I am given to all my children, to those called by Him.
19
Draw near to me, you who desire me, and be filled from my produce.
20
For my remembrance is sweeter than honey, and my inheritance sweeter than the honeycomb.
21
Those who eat me shall hunger still, and those who drink me shall thirst still.
22
One who obeys me shall not be ashamed, and those who work within me shall not sin.”
23
All these things are the Scroll of the Covenant of Elohim Most High, the Torah that Mosheh commanded us, an inheritance for the assemblies of Yaaqov.
24
Do not grow weak in the strength of Yahuah; cling to Him that He may strengthen you. Yahuah of Hosts alone is Elohim, and there is no savior besides Him.
25
It fills Wisdom like Pishon and like Chiddeqel in the days of new produce.
26
It fills understanding like Perat and like Yarden in the days of harvest.
27
It makes instruction shine like light, like Gichon in the days of vintage.
28
The first did not finish knowing her, and likewise the last has not traced her out.
29
For her thought is wider than the sea, and her counsel deeper than the great abyss.
30
I also came forth like a canal from a river and like a watercourse into a garden.
31
I said, “I shall water my garden and drench my planting-bed.” Behold, my canal became a river, and my river became a sea.
32
Still I shall cause instruction to shine like dawn, and make its light manifest far away.
33
Still I shall pour out teaching like prophecy and leave it for generations of the age.
34
Behold, I have not labored for myself alone, but for all who seek her.”
