1
Do not be ashamed concerning these things, and do not show partiality so as to sin:
2
concerning the Torah of El Elyon and the Covenant, and concerning Judgment that declares the profane wrong;
3
concerning an account with associate and travelers, and concerning giving the inheritance of companions;
4
concerning precision of balance and weights, and concerning acquiring much or little;
5
concerning profit from merchants’ selling, concerning abundant instruction of children, and concerning making the side of an evil servant bleed.
6
With an evil ishah a seal is good, and where there are many hands, lock up.
7
Whatever you hand over, do so by number and weight; giving and receiving—put everything in writing.
8
Do not be ashamed concerning instruction of one without sense and a fool, or of an extremely aged man judged among youths. Then you shall be truly instructed and approved before every living one.
9
A daughter is hidden wakefulness to a father, and anxiety concerning her drives away sleep: in her youth, lest she pass her prime; when married, lest she be hated;
10
while a maiden, lest she be profaned and become pregnant in her father’s house; when with a husband, lest she transgress; and when married, lest she be barren.
11
Establish a strong guard over a shameless daughter, lest she make you a rejoicing-place for enemies, a byword in the city and an object of assembly, and shame you before a great multitude.
12
Do not gaze upon the beauty of any Adam, and do not sit in the midst of women.
13
For from garments comes a moth, and from an ishah comes the evil of an ishah.
14
Better the evil of an ish than an ishah working good falsely, and an ishah who brings shame unto reproach.
15
I shall now remember the works of Yahuah and recount what I have seen. By the Words of Yahuah are His works.
16
The sun shines upon all that it beholds, and the work of Yahuah is full of His splendor.
17
Even the set-apart ones of Yahuah were not given power to recount all His wonders, which Yahuah Almighty established that the whole might stand in His splendor.
18
He searches abyss and heart and understands their cunning. For El Elyon knows all knowledge and beholds the sign of the age,
19
declaring what has passed and what shall be, and revealing traces of hidden things.
20
No thought passes Him by; not one word is hidden from Him.
21
He ordered the greatness of His Wisdom, existing before the age and unto the age. Nothing was added or diminished, and He needed no counselor.
22
How desirable are all His works; what is seen is like a spark.
23
All these live and remain unto the age for every use, and all obey Him.
24
All things are paired, one opposite another, and He made nothing lacking.
25
One thing establishes the good of another; and who can be filled from beholding His splendor?
