1
And He said to Mosheh, “Come up to Yahuah—you and Aharon, Nadav and Avihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’el—and you shall bow yourselves from a distance.
2
And Mosheh alone shall draw near to Yahuah, but they shall not draw near, and the people shall not come up with him.”
3
And Mosheh came and recounted to the people all the words of Yahuah and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words that Yahuah has spoken, we will do.”
4
And Mosheh wrote all the words of Yahuah. And he rose early in the morning and built an altar beneath the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Yisra’el.
5
And he sent young men of the sons of Yisra’el, and they offered ascending offerings and sacrificed bulls as peace offerings to Yahuah.
6
And Mosheh took half of the blood and placed it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled upon the altar.
7
And he took the sefer of the covenant and read it in the ears of the people. And they said, “All that Yahuah has spoken, we will do and we will listen.”
8
And Mosheh took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people and said, “See, the blood of the covenant that Yahuah has cut with you concerning all these words.”
9
And Mosheh went up, and Aharon, Nadav, and Avihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’el.
10
And they saw the Elohim of Yisra’el. And beneath His feet was something like a pavement of sapphire stone, and like the very heavens in purity.
11
And against the nobles of the sons of Yisra’el He did not stretch out His hand. And they saw Elohim, and they ate and drank.
12
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there, and I will give you the tablets of stone, and the Torah and the commandment that I have written, to teach them.”
13
And Mosheh arose, and Yehoshua his attendant, and Mosheh went up to the mountain of Elohim.
14
And to the elders he said, “Remain here for us until we return to you. And see, Aharon and Chur are with you. Whoever has a matter, let him draw near to them.”
15
And Mosheh went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.
16
And the glory of Yahuah settled upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Mosheh from the midst of the cloud.
17
And the appearance of the glory of Yahuah was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain before the eyes of the sons of Yisra’el.
18
And Mosheh entered into the midst of the cloud and went up to the mountain. And Mosheh was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
