1
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write upon the tablets the words that were upon the first tablets, which you shattered.
2
And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and station yourself there before Me upon the top of the mountain.
3
And no ish shall come up with you, and no ish shall be seen throughout all the mountain. Neither shall flock nor herd feed before that mountain.”
4
And Mosheh cut two tablets of stone like the first, and rose early in the morning and went up to Mount Sinai, according to what Yahuah had commanded him. And he took the two tablets of stone in his hand.
5
And Yahuah descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Yahuah.
6
And Yahuah passed before his face and proclaimed: “Yahuah, Yahuah, El compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in covenant-faithfulness and truth,
7
guarding covenant-faithfulness for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin, yet clearing, He does not clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons and upon the sons of the sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.”
8
And Mosheh hurried and bowed his head toward the earth and bowed himself.
9
And he said, “If now I have found favor in Your eyes, Adonai, please let Adonai go in our midst, though this is a stiff-necked people. And forgive our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”
10
And He said, “See, I am cutting a covenant. Before all your people I will do wonders such as have not been created in all the earth or among any of the nations. And all the people in whose midst you are shall see the work of Yahuah, for fearsome is what I am doing with you.
11
Guard for yourself what I command you today. See, I am driving out from before your face the Emori, the Kena’ani, the Chitti, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi.
12
Guard yourself, lest you cut a covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are coming, lest it become a snare in your midst.
13
But their altars you shall tear down, their pillars you shall shatter, and their Asherim you shall cut down.
14
For you shall not bow yourself to another el, for Yahuah—Jealous is His name—is a jealous El.
15
Lest you cut a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they whore after their elohim and sacrifice to their elohim, and one calls you, and you eat from his sacrifice,
16
and you take from his daughters for your sons, and his daughters whore after their elohim and cause your sons to whore after their elohim.
17
You shall not make for yourself molten elohim.
18
You shall guard the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Aviv, for in the month of Aviv you came out from Mitzrayim.
19
All that opens the womb is Mine, and every male among your livestock that opens the womb, whether ox or sheep.
20
And the firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb. And if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. Every firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And none shall appear before My face empty.
21
Six days you shall serve, but on the seventh day you shall cease. In plowing and in harvest you shall cease.
22
And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks, of the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turning of the year.
23
Three times in the year every male among you shall appear before the face of Adon Yahuah, Elohim of Yisra’el.
24
For I will dispossess nations from before your face and enlarge your territory, and no ish shall desire your land when you go up to appear before the face of Yahuah your Elohim three times in the year.
25
You shall not slaughter the blood of My sacrifice with leaven, and the sacrifice of the Feast of Pesach shall not remain until morning.
26
The first of the firstfruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of Yahuah your Elohim. You shall not boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.”
27
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Write these words for yourself, for according to these words I have cut a covenant with you and with Yisra’el.”
28
And he was there with Yahuah forty days and forty nights. Bread he did not eat, and water he did not drink. And He wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Words.
29
And it came to pass, when Mosheh came down from Mount Sinai—and the two tablets of the Testimony were in the hand of Mosheh when he came down from the mountain—that Mosheh did not know that the skin of his face was radiating because He had spoken with him.
30
And Aharon and all the sons of Yisra’el saw Mosheh, and see: the skin of his face was radiating, and they feared to draw near to him.
31
And Mosheh called to them, and Aharon and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him, and Mosheh spoke with them.
32
And afterward all the sons of Yisra’el drew near, and he commanded them all that Yahuah had spoken with him on Mount Sinai.
33
And Mosheh finished speaking with them and placed a covering over his face.
34
But whenever Mosheh went in before Yahuah to speak with Him, he removed the covering until he came out. And he came out and spoke to the sons of Yisra’el what he had been commanded.
35
And the sons of Yisra’el saw the face of Mosheh, that the skin of the face of Mosheh was radiating. And Mosheh returned the covering over his face until he went in to speak with Him.
