1
“And this is the commandment, the statutes, and the judgments that Yahuah your Elohim commanded to teach you, to do in the land into which you are crossing to possess it,
2
so that you may fear Yahuah your Elohim, to guard all His statutes and His commandments that I command you—you, and your son, and your son’s son—all the days of your life, and so that your days may be prolonged.
3
And you shall hear, Yisra’el, and guard to do, so that it may be good for you, and so that multiplying, you may multiply exceedingly, according to what Yahuah, Elohim of your fathers, spoke to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
4
Hear, Yisra’el: Yahuah our Elohim, Yahuah is One.
5
And you shall love Yahuah your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might.
6
And these words that I command you today shall be upon your heart.
7
And sharpening, you shall sharpen them into your sons, and you shall speak of them when you dwell in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
8
And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9
And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates.
10
And it shall be, when Yahuah your Elohim brings you into the land that He swore to your fathers—to Avraham, to Yitzchaq, and to Yaaqov—to give you, great and good cities that you did not build,
11
and houses full of every good thing that you did not fill, and hewn cisterns that you did not hew, vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant, and you eat and are satisfied,
12
then guard yourself, lest you forget Yahuah, who brought you out from the land of Mitzrayim, from the house of slavery.
13
Yahuah your Elohim you shall fear, and Him you shall serve, and by His name you shall swear.
14
You shall not go after other elohim, from the elohim of the peoples who are around you,
15
for Yahuah your Elohim in your midst is a jealous El, lest the anger of Yahuah your Elohim burn against you and He destroy you from upon the face of the earth.
16
You shall not test Yahuah your Elohim, as you tested Him at Massah.
17
Guarding, you shall surely guard the commandments of Yahuah your Elohim, and His testimonies, and His statutes that He commanded you.
18
And you shall do what is right and good in the eyes of Yahuah, so that it may be good for you, and that you may go in and possess the good land that Yahuah swore to your fathers,
19
to drive out all your enemies from before your face, according to what Yahuah spoke.
20
When your son asks you tomorrow, saying, ‘What are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments that Yahuah our Elohim commanded you?’
21
then you shall say to your son, ‘We were servants to Pharaoh in Mitzrayim, and Yahuah brought us out from Mitzrayim with a strong hand.
22
And Yahuah placed signs and wonders, great and severe, upon Mitzrayim, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyes.
23
And He brought us out from there in order to bring us in, to give us the land that He swore to our fathers.
24
And Yahuah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yahuah our Elohim, for our good all the days, to preserve us alive, as at this day.
25
And it shall be righteousness for us if we guard to do all this commandment before Yahuah our Elohim, according to what He commanded us.’”
