1
“You shall not sacrifice to Yahuah your Elohim an ox or a sheep in which there is a defect, any evil thing, for that is an abomination to Yahuah your Elohim.
2
If there is found in your midst, within one of your gates that Yahuah your Elohim is giving you, an ish or an ishah who does what is evil in the eyes of Yahuah your Elohim, to transgress His covenant,
3
and has gone and served other elohim and bowed himself to them, or to the sun, or to the moon, or to any of the host of the heavens, which I have not commanded,
4
and it is told to you, and you hear, then you shall inquire diligently. And see, if the matter is true and established, that this abomination has been done in Yisra’el,
5
then you shall bring out that ish or that ishah who has done this evil thing to your gates, the ish or the ishah, and you shall stone them with stones, and they shall die.
6
By the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, the one worthy of death shall be put to death. He shall not be put to death by the mouth of one witness.
7
The hand of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. And you shall remove the evil from your midst.
8
If a matter is too difficult for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between judgment and judgment, and between stroke and stroke, matters of dispute within your gates, then you shall rise and go up to the place that Yahuah your Elohim chooses.
9
And you shall come to the kohenim, the Leviim, and to the judge who shall be in those days, and you shall inquire, and they shall declare to you the word of judgment.
10
And you shall do according to the word that they declare to you from that place that Yahuah chooses, and you shall guard to do according to all that they instruct you.
11
According to the Torah that they instruct you, and according to the judgment that they speak to you, you shall do. You shall not turn aside from the word that they declare to you, to the right hand or to the left.
12
And the ish who acts presumptuously, not listening to the kohen who stands there to serve Yahuah your Elohim, or to the judge, that ish shall die. And you shall remove the evil from Yisra’el.
13
And all the people shall hear and fear, and shall no longer act presumptuously.
14
When you come into the land that Yahuah your Elohim is giving you, and you possess it and dwell in it, and you say, ‘I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,’
15
setting, you shall surely set over yourself a king whom Yahuah your Elohim chooses. From the midst of your brothers you shall set a king over yourself. You are not able to place over yourself a foreign ish who is not your brother.
16
Only he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Mitzrayim in order to multiply horses, for Yahuah has said to you, ‘You shall never again return by this way.’
17
And he shall not multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn aside; and silver and gold he shall not multiply for himself exceedingly.
18
And it shall be, when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this Torah in a sefer, from before the kohenim, the Leviim.
19
And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear Yahuah his Elohim, to guard all the words of this Torah and these statutes, to do them;
20
so that his heart is not lifted up above his brothers, and so that he does not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, so that he may prolong his days over his kingdom, he and his sons, in the midst of Yisra’el.”
