1
“If an ish takes an ishah and becomes her husband, and it comes to pass that she does not find favor in his eyes because he has found in her some matter of nakedness, then he shall write for her a sefer of cutting off, and place it in her hand, and send her out from his house.
2
And when she has gone out from his house, she may go and become the ishah of another ish.
3
And if the latter ish hates her, and writes for her a sefer of cutting off, and places it in her hand, and sends her out from his house; or if the latter ish dies, who took her to be his ishah,
4
then her first husband, who sent her away, is not able to take her again to be his ishah after she has been made unclean, for that is an abomination before Yahuah. And you shall not cause the land to sin, which Yahuah your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.
5
When an ish has taken a new ishah, he shall not go out with the host, and no matter shall pass over him. Free he shall be for his house one year, and he shall gladden his ishah whom he has taken.
6
No ish shall take a millstone or the upper millstone as a pledge, for he would be taking a being as a pledge.
7
If an ish is found stealing a being from his brothers, from the sons of Yisra’el, and he deals with him as property or sells him, then that thief shall die. And you shall remove the evil from your midst.
8
Guard yourself concerning the plague of tzara’at, to guard exceedingly and to do according to all that the kohenim, the Leviim, instruct you. According to what I commanded them, you shall guard to do.
9
Remember what Yahuah your Elohim did to Miryam on the way when you came out from Mitzrayim.
10
When you lend your brother any kind of loan, you shall not go into his house to take his pledge.
11
Outside you shall stand, and the ish to whom you lend shall bring the pledge out to you.
12
And if he is a poor ish, you shall not lie down with his pledge.
13
Returning, you shall surely return the pledge to him when the sun goes down, so that he may lie down in his garment and bless you; and it shall be righteousness for you before Yahuah your Elohim.
14
You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether from your brothers or from your sojourners who are in your land within your gates.
15
On his day you shall give his wages, and the sun shall not go down upon it, for he is poor and lifts his being toward it, lest he cry against you to Yahuah and sin be upon you.
16
Fathers shall not be put to death for sons, and sons shall not be put to death for fathers. Each ish shall be put to death for his own sin.
17
You shall not bend the judgment of the sojourner or the fatherless, and you shall not take the garment of a widow as a pledge.
18
And you shall remember that you were a servant in Mitzrayim, and Yahuah your Elohim redeemed you from there. Therefore I command you to do this word.
19
When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not return to take it. It shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow, so that Yahuah your Elohim may bless you in all the work of your hands.
20
When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the branches again after yourself. It shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21
When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it again after yourself. It shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
22
And you shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Mitzrayim. Therefore I command you to do this word.”
