1
“The sin of Yehudah is written with an iron pen, with the point of a diamond. It is engraved upon the tablet of their heart and upon the horns of your altars,
2
while their sons remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees upon the high hills.
3
My mountain in the field, your wealth and all your treasures I shall give for plunder, along with your high places, because of sin throughout all your borders.
4
And you, even through yourself, shall release the Inheritance I gave you. And I shall cause you to serve your enemies in a land you do not know, for you have kindled a fire in My anger that shall burn forever.”
5
Thus says Yahuah: “Cursed is the ish who trusts in Adam, who appoints flesh as his arm, and whose heart turns away from Yahuah.
6
He shall become like a shrub in the desert and shall not see when good comes. He shall dwell in parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land not inhabited.
7
Favored is the ish who trusts in Yahuah, and whose trust is Yahuah.
8
For he shall become like a tree planted by waters, sending its roots toward the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaf remains green. In a year of drought it is not anxious, nor does it cease from making fruit.
9
The heart is crooked above all and incurable. Who can know it?
10
I, Yahuah, search the heart and test the kidneys, to give to each ish according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.
11
Like a partridge brooding over what it did not lay is the one making wealth without Judgment. In the midst of his days it shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.”
12
A throne of glory, high from the beginning, is the place of our Set-Apart Place.
13
Hope of Yisra’el, Yahuah, all who forsake You shall be ashamed. Those turning away from Me shall be written in the earth, because they forsook Yahuah, the fountain of living waters.
14
Heal me, Yahuah, and I shall be healed. Save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.
15
See, they say to me, “Where is the Word of Yahuah? Let it come now.”
16
But I did not hurry away from being a shepherd after You, nor did I desire the grievous day. You know what came from my lips; it was before Your face.
17
Do not become a terror to me. You are my refuge in the day of evil.
18
Let those persecuting me be ashamed, but do not let me be ashamed. Let them be shattered, but do not let me be shattered. Bring upon them the day of evil, and fracture them with a double fracture.
19
Thus Yahuah said to me: “Go and stand in the gate of the sons of the people, through which the sovereigns of Yehudah enter and through which they go out, and in all the gates of Yerushalayim.
20
And say to them, ‘Hear the Word of Yahuah, sovereigns of Yehudah, all Yehudah, and all inhabitants of Yerushalayim who enter through these gates.
21
Thus says Yahuah: Guard your beings, and do not carry a burden on the day of Shabbat or bring it through the gates of Yerushalayim.
22
And do not bring a burden out from your houses on the day of Shabbat, and do not do any work. But set apart the day of Shabbat, as I commanded your fathers.
23
Yet they did not hear or incline their ear, but hardened their neck so as not to hear and not to receive correction.
24
And it shall be, if hearing, you hear Me,’ declares Yahuah, ‘not bringing a burden through the gates of this city on the day of Shabbat, and setting apart the day of Shabbat by not doing any work in it,
25
then sovereigns and rulers sitting for Daviyd upon his throne shall enter through the gates of this city, riding in chariots and upon horses— they and their rulers, the ish of Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim— and this city shall be inhabited forever.
26
And they shall come from the cities of Yehudah, from all around Yerushalayim, from the land of Binyamin, from the lowland, from the mountains, and from the Negev, bringing ascending offering and sacrifice, grain offering and frankincense, and bringing thanksgiving to the House of Yahuah.
27
But if you do not hear Me to set apart the day of Shabbat and not to carry a burden when entering through the gates of Yerushalayim on the day of Shabbat, then I shall kindle fire in its gates. It shall devour the palaces of Yerushalayim and shall not be quenched.’”
