1
A melody of Asaph. El, Elohim Yahuah, has spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
2
From Tziyon, perfection of beauty, Elohim has shone.
3
Our Elohim comes and is not silent; fire consumes before His face, and around Him a storm rages greatly.
4
He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, to judge His people:
5
“Gather My faithful ones to Me, those cutting My Covenant over a slaughtering.”
6
The heavens declare His Righteousness, for Elohim Himself is Judge. Selah.
7
“Hear, My people, and I speak; Yisra’el, and I witness against you. Elohim, your Elohim, am I.
8
I do not correct you concerning your slaughterings; your ascending offerings are continually before Me.
9
I do not take a bull from your house or male goats from your folds,
10
for every beast of the forest is Mine, cattle upon a thousand mountains.
11
I know every bird of the mountains, and the moving life of the field is with Me.
12
If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are Mine.
13
Do I eat the flesh of mighty bulls or drink the blood of male goats?
14
Slaughter thanksgiving to Elohim, and pay your vows to Elyon.
15
Call upon Me in the day of distress; I deliver you, and you honor Me.”
16
But to the wicked Elohim says, “What right have you to recount My statutes or carry My Covenant in your mouth,
17
while you hate correction and cast My Words behind you?
18
When you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and your portion is with adulterers.
19
You send your mouth into evil, and your tongue binds deceit.
20
You sit and speak against your brother; against the son of your mother you give slander.
21
These you did, and I kept silent. You imagined I was altogether like you. I correct you and arrange it before your eyes.
22
Understand this now, you who forget Eloah, lest I tear apart and there be none to rescue.
23
One slaughtering thanksgiving honors Me; to one ordering his way I show the Salvation of Elohim.”
