1
To the Overseer. A Maskiyl of Daviyd,
2
when Do’eg the Edomite came and told Sha’ul, and said to him, “Daviyd has come to the house of Achimelekh.”
3
Why do you boast in evil, mighty one? The covenant-love of El is all day.
4
Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharpened razor, worker of deceit.
5
You love evil more than good, falsehood more than speaking Righteousness. Selah.
6
You love all devouring words, tongue of deceit.
7
El also tears you down forever; He takes you and tears you from the Tent, and uproots you from the land of the living. Selah.
8
The righteous see and revere; over him they laugh:
9
“See the mighty one who did not set Elohim as his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and was strong in his destruction.”
10
But I am like a green olive tree in the House of Elohim; I trust in the covenant-love of Elohim forever and ever.
11
I thank You forever, for You have done it; I wait for Your Name, for it is good, before Your faithful ones.
