1
A song. A melody of the sons of Qorach. To the Overseer, upon Machalat Leannot. A Maskiyl of Heman the Ezrachite.
2
Yahuah, Elohim of my Salvation, by day I cry out; by night I am before You.
3
Let my prayer come before Your face; incline Your ear to my cry.
4
For my being is satisfied with evils, and my life touches Sheol.
5
I am counted with those descending to the pit; I have become like a mighty one without strength,
6
released among the dead, like the slain lying in a grave, whom You remember no more, who are cut off from Your hand.
7
You have set me in the lowest pit, in dark places, in deeps.
8
Your wrath presses upon me, and with all Your breakers You afflict me. Selah.
9
You have removed those knowing me far from me; You set me as an abomination to them. I am shut in and cannot go out.
10
My eye wastes from affliction. I call You, Yahuah, all day; I spread my palms to You.
11
Do You work wonders for the dead? Do shades rise and thank You? Selah.
12
Is Your covenant-love recounted in the grave, Your Faithfulness in destruction?
13
Are Your wonders known in darkness, and Your Righteousness in the land of forgetting?
14
But I, to You, Yahuah, I cry; in the morning my prayer meets You.
15
Why, Yahuah, do You reject my being? Why do You hide Your face from me?
16
I am afflicted and dying from youth; I bear Your terrors; I am bewildered.
17
Your burning wrath passes over me; Your terrors silence me.
18
They surround me like waters all day; together they encircle me.
19
You have removed loved one and companion far from me; those knowing me are darkness.
