1
To the Overseer. Of Daviyd. A melody. Yahuah, You have searched me and know.
2
You know my sitting and my rising; You understand my thought from far away.
3
You winnow my path and my lying down; all my ways are familiar to You.
4
For no word is yet on my tongue, and see, Yahuah, You know all of it.
5
Behind and before You enclose me, and set Your palm upon me.
6
Such knowledge is too wondrous for me; it is high; I am unable to reach it.
7
Where do I go from Your Ruach? Where do I flee from Your face?
8
If I ascend heavens, You are there; if I spread my bed in Sheol, see, You are there.
9
If I lift wings of dawn and dwell at the far side of sea,
10
even there Your hand guides me, and Your right hand holds me.
11
If I say, “Surely darkness crushes me, and light around me becomes night,”
12
even darkness is not dark to You, and night shines like day; darkness is as light.
13
For You acquired my inward parts; You wove me in the belly of my mother.
14
I thank You, for I am fearfully distinguished; wondrous are Your works, and my being knows it greatly.
15
My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in concealment, embroidered in depths of the earth.
16
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your Sefer all were written— days formed, when not one among them existed.
17
How precious to me are Your designs, El; how mighty are their sums!
18
If I count them, they are more than sand. I awaken, and I am still with You.
19
If only You would kill the wicked, Eloah! Men of blood, depart from me.
20
They speak of You for a scheme; Your enemies lift themselves to emptiness.
21
Do I not hate those hating You, Yahuah? Do I not loathe those rising against You?
22
With complete hatred I hate them; they have become enemies to me.
23
Search me, El, and know my heart; examine me and know my anxious thoughts.
24
See whether a way of pain is in me, and lead me in the eternal way.
