1
In the year of the death of King Uzziyahu, I saw Adonai sitting upon a Throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His garment filled the Temple.
2
Serafim were standing above Him. Six wings, six wings, to each one: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
3
And this one called to that one and said: “Holy, holy, holy is Yahuah of Hosts. The fullness of all the earth is His glory.”
4
And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of the one calling, and the House was filled with smoke.
5
And I said: “Woe to me, for I am undone, for I am an ish of unclean lips, and in the midst of a people of unclean lips I dwell, for my eyes have seen the King, Yahuah of Hosts.”
6
And one of the serafim flew to me, and in his hand was a live coal, which he had taken with tongs from upon the altar.
7
And he caused it to touch my mouth and said: “See, this has touched your lips, and your crookedness is turned away, and your sin is covered.”
8
And I heard the voice of Adonai saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” And I said: “Here I am. Send me.”
9
And He said: “Go, and say to this people: ‘Hearing, you shall hear, but you shall not understand; and seeing, you shall see, but you shall not know.’
10
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and smear over their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and their heart understand, and they return, and healing come to them.”
11
And I said: “Until when, Adonai?” And He said: “Until the cities are laid waste without inhabitant, and houses without Adam, and the ground is laid waste to desolation;
12
and Yahuah has removed Adam far away, and the abandonment is great in the midst of the land.
13
And though a tenth still remains in it, it shall return and be for burning, like a terebinth and like an oak, whose stump remains when they are felled. The holy seed is its stump.”
