1
In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Ashshur sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and captured it,
2
at that time Yahuah spoke by the hand of Yeshayahu son of Amotz, saying: “Go, and loosen the sackcloth from upon your loins, and remove your sandal from upon your foot.” And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
3
And Yahuah said: “As My servant Yeshayahu has walked naked and barefoot three years, a sign and a wonder against Mitzrayim and against Kush,
4
so shall the king of Ashshur lead away the captives of Mitzrayim and the exiles of Kush, young and old, naked and barefoot, with buttocks uncovered—the nakedness of Mitzrayim.
5
And they shall be shattered and ashamed because of Kush, their expectation, and because of Mitzrayim, their glory.
6
And the inhabitant of this coastland shall say in that day: ‘See, this is our expectation, to which we fled for help, to be delivered from before the king of Ashshur. And how shall we escape?’”
