1
Listen to Me, coastlands, and give ear, peoples from afar. Yahuah called Me from the womb; from the inward parts of My mother He made remembrance of My Name.
2
He made My mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He hid Me. He made Me a polished arrow; in His quiver He concealed Me.
3
And He said to Me, “You are My Servant, Yisra’el, in whom I shall glorify Myself.”
4
But I said, “For emptiness I have labored; for void and vapor I have spent My strength. Yet surely My Judgment is with Yahuah, and My work with My Elohim.”
5
And now says Yahuah, who formed Me from the womb as His Servant, to return Yaaqov to Him, so that Yisra’el may be gathered to Him— and I am honored in the eyes of Yahuah, and My Elohim has become My strength—
6
He says: “It is too small a thing for You to be My Servant to raise the tribes of Yaaqov and return the guarded ones of Yisra’el. I also appoint You as a light of the nations, that My Salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
7
Thus says Yahuah, Redeemer of Yisra’el, his Holy One, to the one despised in being, to the one abhorred by a nation, to the servant of rulers: “Kings shall see and rise; rulers shall bow themselves, because of Yahuah, who is faithful, the Holy One of Yisra’el, who chose You.”
8
Thus says Yahuah: “In a time of favor I answered You, and in a day of Salvation I helped You. I shall guard You and appoint You as a Covenant of the people, to raise the land, to cause the desolate Inheritances to be inherited;
9
saying to the prisoners, ‘Go out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Reveal yourselves.’ Along the ways they shall feed, and upon all bare heights shall be their pasture.
10
They shall not hunger and shall not thirst, nor shall heat or sun strike them; for He who has compassion upon them shall lead them, and beside springs of water He shall guide them.
11
I shall make all My mountains into a way, and My highways shall be lifted.
12
See, these shall come from afar; and see, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.”
13
Sing, heavens; rejoice, earth; break forth, mountains, into song. For Yahuah has comforted His people and has compassion upon His afflicted.
14
But Tziyon said, “Yahuah has forsaken me; Adonai has forgotten me.”
15
“Can an ishah forget her nursing child, from having compassion upon the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I shall not forget you.
16
See, upon My palms I have inscribed you; your walls are continually before Me.
17
Your sons hurry; those tearing you down and laying you waste shall go out from you.
18
Lift your eyes all around and see: all of them gather; they come to you. As I live,” declares Yahuah, “you shall surely put all of them on like an ornament and bind them upon yourself like a bride.
19
For your waste places, your desolate places, and the land of your destruction shall now be too narrow for the inhabitants, and those who swallowed you shall be far away.
20
The sons of your bereavement shall yet say in your ears, ‘The place is too narrow for me; draw near for me so I may dwell.’
21
And you shall say in your heart, ‘Who bore these for me, since I was bereaved and barren, exiled and turned aside? Who raised these? See, I was left alone; these—where were they?’”
22
Thus says Adonai Yahuah: “See, I lift My hand to the nations and raise My banner to the peoples. They shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried upon the shoulder.
23
Kings shall become your foster fathers, and their princesses your nursing mothers. With faces to the earth they shall bow themselves to you and lick the dust of your feet. And you shall know that I am Yahuah; those waiting for Me shall not be ashamed.”
24
Shall prey be taken from the mighty, or the captive of the righteous escape?
25
For thus says Yahuah: “Even the captive of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the ruthless shall escape. I Myself shall contend with the one contending with you, and I Myself shall save your sons.
26
I shall feed those oppressing you with their own flesh, and they shall become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine. And all flesh shall know that I, Yahuah, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Yaaqov.”
