1
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, eat what you find. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the House of Yisra’el.”
2
And I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.
3
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, cause your belly to eat, and fill your inward parts with this scroll that I give you.” And I ate it. And it became in my mouth like honey for sweetness.
4
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, go, come to the House of Yisra’el, and speak to them with My Words.
5
For you are not being sent to a people of deep lip and heavy tongue, but to the House of Yisra’el;
6
not to many peoples of deep lip and heavy tongue, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you.
7
But the House of Yisra’el will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to Me. For all the House of Yisra’el are strong of forehead and hard of heart.
8
See, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads.
9
Like adamant, harder than flint, I have made your forehead. Do not fear them, and do not be shattered by their faces, for they are a rebellious house.”
10
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, all My Words that I speak to you, receive into your heart, and hear with your ears.
11
And go, come to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and speak to them and say to them: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah,’ whether they hear or whether they refuse.”
12
And the Ruach lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great rushing: “Blessed is the Glory of Yahuah from His place.”
13
And the sound of the wings of the living beings touching one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, and the sound of a great rushing.
14
And the Ruach lifted me up and took me away. And I went in bitterness, in the heat of my ruach, and the hand of Yahuah was strong upon me.
15
And I came to the exiles at Tel-Aviv, who dwelt by the river Kevar, and I sat where they sat. And I remained there seven days, stunned in their midst.
16
And it came to pass at the end of seven days that the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
17
“Son of Adam, I have appointed you a watchman for the House of Yisra’el. And you shall hear a Word from My mouth and warn them from Me.
18
When I say to the wicked: ‘Dying, you shall surely die,’ and you do not warn him and do not speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to preserve his life, that wicked one shall die in his crookedness, but his blood I will seek from your hand.
19
But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness and from his wicked way, he shall die in his crookedness, but you shall have delivered your being.
20
And when a righteous one turns from his Righteousness and does crookedness, and I place a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you did not warn him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds that he did shall not be remembered, but his blood I will seek from your hand.
21
But if you warn the righteous one that the righteous one should not sin, and he does not sin, living, he shall surely live, because he was warned, and you shall have delivered your being.”
22
And the hand of Yahuah came upon me there, and He said to me: “Rise, go out to the valley, and there I will speak with you.”
23
And I arose and went out to the valley. And see, the Glory of Yahuah was standing there, like the Glory that I had seen by the river Kevar. And I fell upon my face.
24
And the Ruach entered into me and caused me to stand upon my feet. And He spoke with me and said to me: “Go, shut yourself inside your house.
25
And you, son of Adam, see, they shall place cords upon you and bind you with them, and you shall not go out among them.
26
And I will cause your tongue to cling to the roof of your mouth, and you shall become mute and shall not be for them an ish of rebuke, for they are a rebellious house.
27
But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah.’ The one who hears, let him hear; and the one who refuses, let him refuse, for they are a rebellious house.”
