1
And some of the elders of Yisra’el came to me and sat before my face.
2
And the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
3
“Son of Adam, these men have caused their idols to rise upon their heart and have placed the stumbling block of their crookedness before their face. Shall I truly be sought by them?
4
Therefore speak to them and say to them: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: Every ish from the House of Yisra’el who causes his idols to rise upon his heart and places the stumbling block of his crookedness before his face, and comes to the prophet— I, Yahuah, will answer him according to the multitude of his idols,
5
that I may seize the House of Yisra’el by their heart, because all of them have become estranged from Me through their idols.’
6
Therefore say to the House of Yisra’el: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: Return, and turn yourselves back from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.
7
For every ish from the House of Yisra’el, or from the stranger who sojourns in Yisra’el, who separates himself from after Me, and causes his idols to rise upon his heart, and places the stumbling block of his crookedness before his face, and comes to the prophet to seek Me through him— I, Yahuah, will answer him Myself.
8
And I will set My face against that ish and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of My people. And you shall know that I am Yahuah.
9
And if the prophet is deceived and speaks a word, I, Yahuah, have allowed that prophet to be deceived. And I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from the midst of My people Yisra’el.
10
And they shall bear their crookedness. As the crookedness of the one seeking shall be, so shall the crookedness of the prophet be,
11
so that the House of Yisra’el may no longer wander from after Me, nor defile themselves any longer with all their transgressions. And they shall be My People, and I shall be their Elohim,’ declares Adonai Yahuah.”
12
And the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
13
“Son of Adam, when a land sins against Me by acting treacherously, and I stretch out My hand against it and break its staff of bread, and send famine upon it, and cut off from it Adam and beast,
14
even if these three ish were in its midst— Noach, Dani’el, and Iyov— they by their Righteousness would deliver only their own beings,” declares Adonai Yahuah.
15
“If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they bereave it, and it becomes desolate so that none passes through because of the beasts,
16
even if these three ish were in its midst— living am I,” declares Adonai Yahuah, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They alone would be delivered, and the land would become desolate.
17
Or if I bring a sword upon that land and say: ‘Sword, pass through the land,’ and I cut off from it Adam and beast,
18
even if these three ish were in its midst— living am I,” declares Adonai Yahuah, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They alone would be delivered.
19
Or if I send pestilence into that land and pour out My wrath upon it in blood, to cut off from it Adam and beast,
20
even if Noach, Dani’el, and Iyov were in its midst— living am I,” declares Adonai Yahuah, “they would deliver neither son nor daughter. By their Righteousness they would deliver only their own beings.”
21
For thus says Adonai Yahuah: “How much more when I send My four severe Judgments against Yerushalayim— sword, and famine, and evil beast, and pestilence— to cut off from it Adam and beast.
22
Yet see, a remnant shall be left in it who are brought out—sons and daughters. See, they shall come out to you, and you shall see their way and their deeds. And you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I brought upon Yerushalayim, concerning all that I brought upon it.
23
And they shall comfort you when you see their way and their deeds. And you shall know that not without cause have I done all that I did in it,” declares Adonai Yahuah.
