1
In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was struck, on that very day, the hand of Yahuah was upon me, and He brought me there.
2
In visions of Elohim He brought me to the land of Yisra’el and caused me to rest upon a very high mountain. And upon it, toward the south, was something like the structure of a city.
3
And He brought me there, and see, there was an ish whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze. And a cord of flax was in his hand, and a measuring reed. And he stood in the gate.
4
And the ish said to me: “Son of Adam, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I show you. For in order to show it to you you were brought here. Declare all that you see to the House of Yisra’el.”
5
And see, there was a wall outside the House all around. And in the hand of the ish was a measuring reed of six cubits, each cubit being a cubit and a handbreadth. And he measured the width of the structure, one reed, and its height, one reed.
6
And he came to the gate whose face was toward the east and went up its steps. And he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed in width, and the other threshold, one reed in width.
7
And the guard chamber was one reed long and one reed wide. And between the guard chambers were five cubits. And the threshold of the gate beside the porch of the gate inward was one reed.
8
And he measured the porch of the gate inward, one reed.
9
And he measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits, and its pillars, two cubits. And the porch of the gate was inward.
10
And the guard chambers of the east gate were three on this side and three on that side. The three had one measure, and the pillars on this side and that side had one measure.
11
And he measured the width of the entrance of the gate, ten cubits, and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.
12
And there was a boundary before the guard chambers, one cubit on this side, and a boundary of one cubit on that side. And the guard chamber was six cubits on this side and six cubits on that side.
13
And he measured the gate from the roof of one guard chamber to the roof of the other, twenty-five cubits in width, entrance opposite entrance.
14
And he made the pillars sixty cubits, and to the pillars was the court all around the gate.
15
And from the face of the entrance gate to the face of the porch of the inner gate was fifty cubits.
16
And there were closed windows to the guard chambers and to their pillars within the gate all around, and likewise to the porches. And windows were all around inward. And palm trees were upon the pillars.
17
And he brought me into the outer court. And see, there were chambers and a pavement made for the court all around. Thirty chambers were upon the pavement.
18
And the pavement was beside the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates. This was the lower pavement.
19
And he measured the width from before the lower gate to before the inner court outside, one hundred cubits toward the east and toward the north.
20
And the gate of the outer court whose face was toward the north, he measured its length and its width.
21
And its guard chambers were three on this side and three on that side. And its pillars and its porches were according to the measure of the first gate: fifty cubits its length, and twenty-five cubits its width.
22
And its windows, and its porches, and its palm trees were according to the measure of the gate whose face was toward the east. And by seven steps they went up to it, and its porches were before them.
23
And there was a gate to the inner court opposite the gate toward the north and toward the east. And he measured from gate to gate, one hundred cubits.
24
And he caused me to go toward the south. And see, there was a gate toward the south. And he measured its pillars and its porches according to these measures.
25
And there were windows in it and in its porches all around, like those windows. Fifty cubits was the length, and twenty-five cubits the width.
26
And there were seven steps for its ascent, and its porches were before them. And palm trees were upon its pillars, one on this side and one on that side.
27
And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south. And he measured from gate to gate toward the south, one hundred cubits.
28
And he brought me into the inner court by the south gate. And he measured the south gate according to these measures.
29
And its guard chambers, and its pillars, and its porches were according to these measures. And there were windows in it and in its porches all around. Fifty cubits was the length, and twenty-five cubits the width.
30
And there were porches all around, twenty-five cubits long and five cubits wide.
31
And its porches were toward the outer court. And palm trees were upon its pillars. And its ascent was by eight steps.
32
And he brought me into the inner court toward the east. And he measured the gate according to these measures.
33
And its guard chambers, and its pillars, and its porches were according to these measures. And there were windows in it and in its porches all around. Fifty cubits was the length, and twenty-five cubits the width.
34
And its porches were toward the outer court. And palm trees were upon its pillars on this side and on that side. And its ascent was by eight steps.
35
And he brought me to the north gate and measured it according to these measures:
36
its guard chambers, its pillars, and its porches. And there were windows all around. Fifty cubits was the length, and twenty-five cubits the width.
37
And its pillars were toward the outer court. And palm trees were upon its pillars on this side and on that side. And its ascent was by eight steps.
38
And a chamber and its entrance were by the pillars of the gates. There they washed the ascending offering.
39
And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side and two tables on that side, upon which to slaughter the ascending offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering.
40
And at the outer side, as one went up to the entrance of the north gate, were two tables. And on the other side belonging to the porch of the gate were two tables.
41
Four tables were on this side and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate: eight tables upon which they slaughtered.
42
And four tables for the ascending offering were of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half wide, and one cubit high. Upon them they laid the instruments with which they slaughtered the ascending offering and the sacrifice.
43
And double hooks, a handbreadth long, were fastened in the House all around. And upon the tables was the flesh of the offering.
44
And outside the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was beside the north gate, and their faces were toward the south. One beside the east gate had its face toward the north.
45
And he said to me: “This chamber whose face is toward the south is for the kohenim who guard the charge of the House.
46
And the chamber whose face is toward the north is for the kohenim who guard the charge of the altar. These are the sons of Tzadoq, from the sons of Levi, who draw near to Yahuah to minister to Him.”
47
And he measured the court: one hundred cubits long, and one hundred cubits wide, square. And the altar was before the House.
48
And he brought me to the porch of the House and measured each pillar of the porch, five cubits on this side and five cubits on that side. And the width of the gate was three cubits on this side and three cubits on that side.
49
The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the width eleven cubits. And by steps they went up to it. And there were pillars by the posts, one on this side and one on that side.
