1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
2
He was in the beginning with Elohim.
3
All things came into being through him, and apart from him not one thing came into being that has come into being.
4
In him was life, and the life was the light of Adam.
5
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
6
There came an ish sent from Elohim, whose name was Yochanan.
7
This one came as a witness, to testify concerning the Light, so that all might trust through his testimony.
8
He himself was not the Light, but came to testify concerning the Light.
9
The true Light, which gives light to every Adam, was coming into the world.
10
He was in the world, and the world came into being through him, yet the world did not know him.
11
He came to his own, and his own did not receive him.
12
But to all who received him, to those trusting in his Name, he gave authority to become children of Elohim—
13
those who were born not from bloodlines, nor from the desire of flesh, nor from the desire of an ish, but from Elohim.
14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory— glory as of the unique Son from the Father, full of favor and truth.
15
Yochanan testified concerning him and cried out, saying: “This is the one of whom I said: ‘The one coming after me has come to stand before me, because he existed before me.’”
16
For from his fullness we all received, favor upon favor.
17
For the Torah was given through Mosheh; favor and truth came through Yahushua the Anointed.
18
No one has ever seen Elohim. The unique One, who is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.
19
And this is the testimony of Yochanan, when the Yehudim from Yerushalayim sent kohenim and Leviim to him to ask him: “Who are you?”
20
And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed: “I am not the Anointed.”
21
And they asked him: “What then? Are you Eliyahu?” And he said: “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered: “No.”
22
Therefore they said to him: “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say concerning yourself?”
23
He said: “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Make straight the way of Yahuah,’ just as Yeshayahu the prophet said.”
24
And those who had been sent were from the Perushim.
25
And they questioned him and said to him: “Why then do you immerse if you are not the Anointed, nor Eliyahu, nor the Prophet?”
26
Yochanan answered them, saying: “I immerse in water. But among you stands one whom you do not know.
27
He is the one coming after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to loosen.”
28
These things happened in Beit-Anyah, beyond the Yarden, where Yochanan was immersing.
29
On the next day he saw Yahushua coming toward him and said: “See— the Lamb of Elohim, the one carrying away the sin of the world.
30
This is the one concerning whom I said: ‘After me comes an ish who has come to stand before me, because he existed before me.’
31
And I myself did not know him. But so that he might be revealed to Yisra’el, because of this I came immersing in water.”
32
And Yochanan testified, saying: “I saw the Ruach descending from the heavens like a dove, and it remained upon him.
33
And I myself did not know him, but the One who sent me to immerse in water said to me: ‘The one upon whom you see the Ruach descending and remaining upon him— this is the one who immerses in Holy Ruach.’
34
And I have seen, and I have testified that this one is the Son of Elohim.”
35
Again, on the next day, Yochanan was standing with two of his talmidim.
36
And looking at Yahushua as he walked, he said: “See— the Lamb of Elohim.”
37
And the two talmidim heard him speaking and followed Yahushua.
38
And Yahushua, turning and seeing them following, said to them: “What are you seeking?” And they said to him: “Rabbi”— which means, Teacher— “where are you staying?”
39
He said to them: “Come, and you shall see.” Therefore they came and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
40
Andrai, the brother of Shim’on Kepha, was one of the two who heard Yochanan and followed Yahushua.
41
He first found his own brother Shim’on and said to him: “We have found the Anointed.”
42
And he brought him to Yahushua. Yahushua looked at him and said: “You are Shim’on, son of Yochanan. You shall be called Kepha”— which means, Stone.
43
On the next day, Yahushua desired to go out into Galil. And he found Philippos and said to him: “Follow me.”
44
Now Philippos was from Beit-Tzaidah, the city of Andrai and Kepha.
45
Philippos found Netan’el and said to him: “We have found the one of whom Mosheh wrote in the Torah, and the prophets— Yahushua, son of Yoseph, from Natzaret.”
46
And Netan’el said to him: “Can anything good come out of Natzaret?” Philippos said to him: “Come and see.”
47
Yahushua saw Netan’el coming toward him and said concerning him: “See— truly an Yisra’eli in whom there is no deceit.”
48
Netan’el said to him: “From where do you know me?” Yahushua answered and said to him: “Before Philippos called you, while you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49
Netan’el answered him: “Rabbi, you are the Son of Elohim. You are the King of Yisra’el.”
50
Yahushua answered and said to him: “Because I told you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ you trust? You shall see greater things than these.”
51
And he said to him: “Truly, truly, I tell you: you shall see the heavens opened and the messengers of Elohim ascending and descending upon the Son of Adam.”
