1
Guard yourselves that you do not perform your acts of Righteousness before Adam in order to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father who is in the heavens.
2
Therefore when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before yourself as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by Adam. Truly I tell you: they have received their reward.
3
But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4
so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, shall repay you.
5
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the corners of the broad streets, so that they may be seen by Adam. Truly I tell you: they have received their reward.
6
But you, when you pray, enter your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, shall repay you.
7
And when you pray, do not multiply empty words as the nations do. For they think that by their abundance of words they shall be heard.
8
Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
9
Therefore pray in this way: “Our Father who is in the heavens, may Your Name be set apart as holy.
10
May Your Kingdom come. May Your will be done upon the earth as it is in the heavens.
11
Give us this day the bread we need for the day.
12
And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive those indebted to us.
13
And do not bring us into testing, but deliver us from evil.
14
For if you forgive Adam their trespasses, your Father in the heavens shall also forgive you.
15
But if you do not forgive Adam, neither shall your Father forgive your trespasses.
16
And when you fast, do not become gloomy-faced like the hypocrites. For they neglect their faces so that they may appear to Adam to be fasting. Truly I tell you: they have received their reward.
17
But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
18
so that you do not appear to Adam to be fasting, but to your Father who is in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, shall repay you.
19
Do not store up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and decay destroy, and where thieves break through and steal.
20
But store up for yourselves treasures in the heavens, where neither moth nor decay destroys, and where thieves do not break through or steal.
21
For where your treasure is, there your heart shall also be.
22
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is whole, your whole body shall be full of light.
23
But if your eye is corrupted, your whole body shall be full of darkness. Therefore if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness.
24
No one is able to serve two masters. For either he shall hate the one and love the other, or he shall hold firmly to the one and despise the other. You are not able to serve Elohim and wealth as master.
25
Therefore I tell you: do not be consumed with anxiety for your life— what you shall eat or what you shall drink— nor for your body, what you shall wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26
Look at the birds of the heavens. They do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, yet your Father in the heavens feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27
And which of you, by being anxious, is able to add even one cubit to the measure of his life?
28
And concerning clothing, why are you anxious? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not labor and they do not spin.
29
Yet I tell you: even Shəlomah in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.
30
And if Elohim so clothes the grass of the field, which exists today and tomorrow is cast into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, you of little trust?
31
Therefore do not be anxious, saying: ‘What shall we eat?’ or: ‘What shall we drink?’ or: ‘What shall we wear?’
32
For the nations seek after all these things. And your Father in the heavens knows that you need all of them.
33
But seek first the Kingdom and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own concerns. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
