1
And Yahushua answered and again spoke to them in parables, saying:
2
“The Kingdom of the heavens is like a king who made a wedding feast for his son.
3
And he sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come.
4
Again he sent other servants, saying: ‘Tell those invited: See— I have prepared my meal. My oxen and my fattened animals have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.’
5
But they disregarded it and went away— one to his field, another to his trade.
6
And the rest seized his servants, mistreated them, and killed them.
7
And the king became enraged. And he sent his forces, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8
Then he said to his servants: ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy.
9
Therefore go to the roads leading out from the city and as many as you find, call them to the wedding feast.’
10
And those servants went out into the roads and gathered everyone they found— evil and good. And the wedding hall was filled with those reclining.
11
And when the king entered to see those reclining, he saw there an ish who was not clothed in wedding clothing.
12
And he said to him: ‘Friend, how did you enter here without wedding clothing?’ And he was silent.
13
Then the king said to the servants: ‘Bind his hands and feet, take him away, and cast him into the outer darkness. There shall be weeping and grinding of teeth.’
14
For many are called, but few are chosen.”
15
Then the Perushim went and took counsel how they might trap him in his words.
16
And they sent to him their talmidim with the Herodians, saying: “Teacher, we know that you are truthful, and that you teach the way of Elohim in truth, and you do not bend for anyone, for you do not show partiality according to status.
17
Tell us therefore— what do you think? Is it permitted to pay tribute to Caesar, or not?”
18
But Yahushua, knowing their evil, said: “Why are you testing me, hypocrites?
19
Show me the coin used for the tribute.” And they brought him a denarius.
20
And he said to them: “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?”
21
They said to him: “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them: “Therefore return to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to Elohim what belongs to Elohim.”
22
And when they heard this, they marveled. And leaving him, they went away.
23
On that day Tzadduqim came to him, those who say there is no resurrection, and they asked him,
24
saying: “Teacher, Mosheh said: ‘If an ish dies having no children, his brother shall marry his ishah and raise up seed for his brother.’
25
Now there were among us seven brothers. And the first married and died. And having no seed, he left his ishah to his brother.
26
Likewise also the second, and the third, until the seventh.
27
And last of all, the ishah also died.
28
Therefore in the resurrection, whose ishah shall she be of the seven? For they all had her.”
29
Yahushua answered and said to them: “You are mistaken, because you do not know the sefarim or the power of Elohim.
30
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the messengers in the heavens.
31
And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by Elohim, saying:
32
‘I am the Elohim of Avraham, and the Elohim of Yitzchaq, and the Elohim of Yaaqov’? He is not Elohim of the dead, but of the living.”
33
And when the crowds heard, they were astonished at his teaching.
34
But when the Perushim heard that he had silenced the Tzadduqim, they gathered together.
35
And one of them, an expert in the Torah, tested him, saying:
36
“Teacher, which commandment is greatest in the Torah?”
37
And he said to him: “‘You shall love Yahuah your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your understanding.’
38
This is the great and first commandment.
39
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40
Upon these two commandments hang all the Torah and the Prophets.”
41
And while the Perushim were gathered together, Yahushua asked them,
42
saying: “What do you think concerning the Anointed? Whose son is he?” They said to him: “Daviyd’s.”
43
He said to them: “How then does Daviyd, in the Ruach, call him Master, saying:
44
‘Yahuah said to my Master: Sit at My right hand until I place your enemies beneath your feet’?
45
Therefore if Daviyd calls him Master, how is he his son?”
46
And no one was able to answer him a word. And from that day, no one dared to question him any further.
