1
Now there were some present at that very time who reported to him about the Galilim whose blood Pilatus had mingled with their sacrifices.
2
And answering, he said to them: “Do you think that these Galilim were greater sinners than all the other Galilim because they suffered these things?
3
No, I tell you. But unless you turn back, you shall all likewise perish.
4
Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Shiloach fell and killed them— do you think that they were greater debtors than all the Adam living in Yerushalayim?
5
No, I tell you. But unless you turn back, you shall all likewise perish.”
6
And he spoke this parable: “A certain ish had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. And he came seeking fruit upon it and found none.
7
And he said to the keeper of the vineyard: ‘See— for three years I have come seeking fruit upon this fig tree and find none. Cut it down. Why should it also exhaust the ground?’
8
But he answered and said to him: ‘Master, leave it this year also, until I dig around it and put manure upon it.
9
And if it produces fruit afterward, good. But if not, you shall cut it down.’”
10
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Shabbat.
11
And see— there was an ishah who had a ruach of infirmity for eighteen years. And she was bent over and was not able to straighten herself fully.
12
And when Yahushua saw her, he called her near and said to her: “Ishah, you are released from your infirmity.”
13
And he placed his hands upon her. And immediately she was made straight, and she glorified Elohim.
14
But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Yahushua had restored on the Shabbat, answered and said to the crowd: “There are six days in which it is necessary to work. Therefore come on those days and be restored, and not on the day of Shabbat.”
15
But the Master answered him and said: “Hypocrites. Does not each one of you on the Shabbat untie his ox or donkey from the feeding place and lead it away to drink?
16
And this one— a daughter of Avraham, whom the adversary bound for eighteen years— was it not necessary that she be released from this bond on the day of Shabbat?”
17
And as he said these things, all those opposing him were put to shame. And all the crowd rejoiced because of all the glorious things being done through him.
18
Therefore he said: “What is the Kingdom of Elohim like? And to what shall I compare it?
19
It is like a mustard seed which an ish took and cast into his garden. And it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the heavens nested in its branches.”
20
And again he said: “To what shall I compare the Kingdom of Elohim?
21
It is like leaven which an ishah took and hid in three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”
22
And he was passing through cities and villages, teaching, while making his way toward Yerushalayim.
23
And someone said to him: “Master, are only a few being delivered?” And he said to them:
24
“Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, shall seek to enter and shall not be able.
25
From the time the master of the house rises and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying: ‘Master, open to us,’ he shall answer and say to you: ‘I do not know from where you are.’
26
Then you shall begin to say: ‘We ate and drank before you, and you taught in our streets.’
27
And he shall say: ‘I tell you, I do not know from where you are. Depart from me, all you workers of unrighteousness.’
28
There shall be weeping and grinding of teeth when you see Avraham, and Yitzchaq, and Yaaqov, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of Elohim, but yourselves cast outside.
29
And they shall come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline in the Kingdom of Elohim.
30
And see— there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.”
31
In that same hour some Perushim came near, saying to him: “Go out and depart from here, because Herod desires to kill you.”
32
And he said to them: “Go. Tell that fox: ‘See— I drive out unclean ruachot and complete restorations today and tomorrow, and on the third day I complete my course.’
33
Nevertheless, it is necessary for me to go on today, and tomorrow, and the following day, because it is not fitting for a prophet to perish outside Yerushalayim.
34
Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim— the one killing the prophets and stoning those sent to her. How often I desired to gather your children as a hen gathers her brood beneath her wings, and you did not desire it.
35
See— your house is left to you. And I tell you: you shall certainly not see me until you say: ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the Name of Yahuah.’”
