1
And the emissaries and the brothers who were throughout Yehudah heard that the nations also had received the Word of Elohim.
2
And when Kepha went up to Yerushalayim, those of the circumcision disputed with him,
3
saying: “You entered to uncircumcised ishim and ate with them.”
4
But Kepha, beginning from the beginning, explained the matter to them in order, saying:
5
“I was in the city of Yafo, praying, and in a trance I saw a vision— a certain vessel descending, like a great linen sheet being lowered from the heavens by four corners, and it came to me.
6
Looking intently into it, I observed and saw the four-footed creatures of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens.
7
And I heard a voice saying to me: ‘Rise, Kepha. Slaughter and eat.’
8
But I said: ‘Certainly not, Master, for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’
9
But the voice answered a second time from the heavens: ‘What Elohim has cleansed, do not call common.’
10
And this happened three times, and all was drawn up again into the heavens.
11
And see— immediately three ishim stood at the house where we were, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
12
And the Ruach said to me to go with them without distinction. And these six brothers also went with me, and we entered the house of the ish.
13
And he reported to us how he had seen the messenger standing in his house and saying: ‘Send to Yafo and summon Shim’on, the one called Kepha,
14
who shall speak words to you by which you and all your household shall be delivered.’
15
And as I began to speak, Holy Ruach fell upon them just as also upon us at the beginning.
16
And I remembered the word of the Master, how he said: ‘Yochanan indeed immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in Holy Ruach.’
17
Therefore, if Elohim gave them the same gift as He gave also to us when we trusted in the Master Yahushua the Anointed, who was I that I could stand in the way of Elohim?”
18
And when they heard these things, they became quiet and glorified Elohim, saying: “Then also to the nations Elohim has granted repentance toward life.”
19
Now those who were scattered because of the affliction that arose concerning Stephanos passed through as far as Phoinike, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the Word to no one except Yehudim only.
20
But there were some of them, ishim from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they came to Antioch, spoke also to the Greeks, proclaiming the Besorah of the Master Yahushua.
21
And the hand of Yahuah was with them, and a great number trusted and turned toward the Master.
22
And the report concerning them reached the ears of the assembly that was in Yerushalayim, and they sent out Bar-Nabba as far as Antioch.
23
And when he came and saw the grace of Elohim, he rejoiced and encouraged all of them with purpose of heart to remain with the Master.
24
For he was a good ish, full of Holy Ruach and trust. And a great multitude was added to the Master.
25
And he went out to Tarsos to seek Sha’ul.
26
And having found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to pass that for a whole year they gathered with the assembly and taught a great multitude. And in Antioch, the talmidim were first called Anointed-ones.
27
And in those days prophets came down from Yerushalayim to Antioch.
28
And one of them, named Agabos, stood and signified through the Ruach that a great famine was about to come upon all the inhabited world, which indeed came to pass in the days of Claudius.
29
And the talmidim, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers dwelling in Yehudah.
30
And this they did, sending it to the elders through the hand of Bar-Nabba and Sha’ul.
