6:1
The thirteen accounts speak so as to disgrace the desire of the powers. But the generation having no king over it gives a different testimony.
6:2
It says: “The eternal source chose him from all the aeons and caused knowledge of the undefiled One of truth to dwell in him.”
6:3
“He came from a foreign air, from a great aeon. The great Illuminator came forth.”
6:4
“He made the generation he had chosen shine—those selected for himself—so that they might cast light upon the whole aeon.”
6:5
“Then the seed will contend against the power of all those who receive the Illuminator’s name upon the water.”
6:6
“A cloud of darkness will cover the opponents. The peoples will cry aloud: ‘Blessed are the souls of those people, for they knew the eternal source through true knowledge.’”
6:7
“‘They will live through the ages because the desire of the messengers did not corrupt them and they did not perform the works of the powers.’”
6:8
“‘They stood before the source in knowledge, like light arising from fire and blood.’”
6:9
“‘But we performed every work in the powers’ senselessness. We boasted in the transgression of our works and cried out against the Elohim of truth.’”
6:10
“‘His works are [manuscript damaged] eternal. They stand against our spirits. We now know that our souls will die the death.’” 9
